He shakes his head, turning around. "First, you owe me a kiss. Unless, you can't do that on your break either."

I smile. "I do believe I can kiss when I'm not on company time."

He leans forward, head dipping down so his lips can meet mine. God, I love the feeling of them. How they fit just perfectly against mine. They seek but never push for too much until I offer it. And I do, licking his upper lip. His hands settle on my hips, pulling me closer as his tongue meets mine. The warmth of it makes it hard to hold back the moan that tries to escape me. The sound of people in the background makes me end it much quicker than I want to.

"I won six hundred," he tells me when we break apart.

I arch a brow. "Well, well. That's enough to get you at least sixty pieces of Laffy Taffy from the counter."

He laughs, and I close my eyes at the sound of it.

"You were right. The pizza's ready."

I turn to look and can see the pizza, paper plates, and two cups waiting on the table for us. We walk over to it, and I sit while Elijah picks up the cup.

"What drink do you want?"

"Cherry Pepsi."

He nods and walks over to the drink fountain. I put two slices on both of our plates and push one closer to the other side of the table. Then change my mind and move over in the booth and move his plate beside me. His lips quirk up a little when he sees where I want him to sit.

"This is really good. I wasn't expecting that," he says after his first bite.

"Most people aren't. For how cheap they are. I have to be careful not to eat it every day. Otherwise I'd be busting out of my clothes."

His eyes drop to my breasts. "I don't think that would be such a bad thing. And if the pizza gave you the curves you have right now, I like it even more."

I'm sure I'm blushing, but I try to hide it with another bite. We finish and with forty minutes left on my break, I know exactly what I want to do. I lead Elijah to the laser tag. You really have to pay extra to play it, but my coworker just waves us in, telling us we have thirty minutes until the next people are due to play their game.

"More than enough time for me to beat you," I tease Elijah.

"You wish. Don't worry. I'll take it easy on you."

We put on our gear and each grab a gun before I take a cheap shot, shooting him in the chest, and running into the dark of the course. We each have ten tallies on an armband, well Elijah has nine tallies now, and the narrowing of his eyes tells me he's looking for revenge when he finally finds me hiding behind one of the walls.

I put my hands up, slowly backing up so I can make a run for it. "If you don't shoot me, I'll throw another kiss your way."

He shoots me, and my eyes widen in shock. He shoots me again and I finally run, shooting blindly behind me, grinning when I hear a curse. I'm down to zero tallies when he still has four left. My hairline sweating and my chest heaving, I meet Elijah in the front room to remove my gear.

"What were you saying before?" He smirks. "Something about winning?"

"Whatever. Beginner's luck. Next time, I'll have you down all your tallies while I still have all of mine. As they say in Mortal Kombat, a flawless victory."

He laughs, bringing his hand to his stomach, head thrown back.

I can tell though, the moment he remembers, the moment the guilt hits him.

"Don't," I state. "Don't let him take this moment."

He stares at me for a moment, his chest moving with the deep breath he takes in and lets out. Then he nods.

"I won't if you won't," he says.

"Deal." I smile.

We leave the laser tag room, and I look at my phone to see I have ten more minutes.

"I know just the thing we should do."
