I take his hand and run to the other side of the building. We only wait on line for a few minutes before Elijah and I are both getting into separate bumper cars.

"I apologize ahead of time for the whiplash you're about to have," Elijah jokes... I think.

Nope, he was not joking. I have no idea how he always seems to end up behind, but he hits my car so many times, I start to wonder if I can tell my boss I need to go home because of a bruised back.

"I thought you liked me." I groan as Elijah walks with me back to the counter.

"I do. If you don't know that by now, I'm as horrible at flirting as I thought I was."

Wanting to get one more kiss before we reach the front, I turn and wrap my arms around his neck. "You are not horrible at flirting at all. Hence how you have me so into you already."

"Do I?" He grins.

"You do."

I kiss him and his arms wrap around my lower back. Our lips meet a few times, before his move to my forehead, the warmth of them settling there making me close my eyes.

"Jolie," My manager calls.

I back away and look over to see her tapping her watch.

"I've been beckoned." I sigh.

"What time do you get off?"

"One. Thank you for coming. I've never enjoyed my lunch break so much."

"Thank you."

He walks with me the rest of the way to the counter, and we separate when I go behind it and clock back in. Elijah stands on the other side, putting his many tickets on the counter.

"Now about those Laffy Taffies you mentioned. Do you like them?"

"They're my favorite. Except the banana ones." I answer.

"Then I hope you have room in your pockets for sixty Laffy Taffies."

"Really?" I smile.

"I won these just for you."

"Are you trying to win me over with candy?"

"I'll use whatever I can."

He walks away, leaving his tickets on the counter for me. I take them and rack up on Laffy Taffies, making sure to avoid the yellow ones. Four more hours of dealing with adults now instead of kids coming in and leaving, and my shift is over. Since I'm always the last to leave, the one to make sure all the doors are locked and lights are off, I'm surprised when I get outside and see another car in the lot. But I know that car, and especially the man stepping out of it as I walk towards it.

"I suddenly got worried about you being the only one here so late," he says when I reach him.

"I do it every night I work."

"I know, but still."

"Thank you. That's very sweet. What have you been doing for the last four hours while you waited for me?"

"Listening to music. Googling weird things."

I chuckle. "I don't even know if I should ask."
