"I'm sorry, that you feel like that in your own home."

"It's so suffocating," I murmur, the last of my tears finally falling.

I look towards the window and catch the reflection of myself. God, this isn't how I want him to see me.

"We have to stop meeting like this," I try to joke.

"No. No. Don't do that," he states, putting his hand on top of mine. "Don't feel like you always need to turn things good for me. Not for me. I notice you do that, smile when you might not really want to, think it's not okay to show the pain. But I don't want that Jolie. I told you, never hide your emotions. Don't be ashamed of what you're feeling. Just...feel them."

"And what about when you're scared those feeling with overtake you?" I ask low, looking back at him. “When you're afraid if you let the anger or sadness take over for too long, you'll never find your happiness again?"

"Then it's a good thing I'll be here to help you get back to being happy."

I smile at that, wiping my face. "We both have to admit though, that I look like such a mess right now."

"A beautiful mess."

"I don't know if that's a compliment of not." I chuckle. "How do you manage to always make me feel like the world isn't ending when I was sure it was?"

"It's a talent we both possess."

I look at the time and fall back into my seat. "I don't wanna go back there."

"So don't. Come to my house. I do owe you a dinner and breakfast."

"Are you sure?"

"Nothing could make this night better, Jolie."

"Thank you."

"Don't thank me until you're sure you liked what I cook. And just a warning, my grandma might still be awake this time."

"I hope so."

"Follow me there."

He leans over and kisses me before getting out of my car and into his. I follow behind him, trying to make myself look better at each red light. Besides putting my hair into a ponytail and putting on lip gloss, there's not much I can do about the puffy eyes and my nose ever so slowly losing its redness. By the time we pull up to his house, any other emotion is replaced by nerves at the thought of meeting his grandma.

"Anything in mind you wanna eat?" he asks as he approach his door.

"I am agreeing with anything your grandma wants." I chuckle.

"Oh my God, are you nervous?" He grins.

"Of course."

"She will love you. Trust me."

He opens the door and his grandma's voice immediately greets him.

"You have got to try this cake I just made," she shouts from deeper in the house.

"Grandma, we have company."

Her head peeks out of the kitchen and when she sees me, I'm relieved at the smile that forms on her face.

"You must be the Jolie I have heard so much about," she says and I look over at Elijah in time to see a red flush crawl up his face. "It's nice to finally meet you."
