She runs into my arms, barely giving me time to catch her when she jumps on me.

"I told you you'd get it."

"You did. I start on Monday. And best part…”

“What?” She backs up to look at me.

“I don’t have to wear this tie every day.”

She throws her head back in laughter. “Yes. That’s the most important thing.”

“My grandma is making some cake for tonight to celebrate.”

Her eyes widen in delight. "Now that really is the most important thing." She kisses me before backing away again. "I'm so proud of you. Truly. A new job, starting school again. A great girl in your arms. You have it all."

I grin. "I do, huh? But I have to admit the girl is the most important part of that wining equation."

She beams. "Naturally. So tell me about the center."

"It's really nice. They have a lot of different avenues for people to figure out what works best for them there. I even saw some horses out one of the windows. And the director has a great approach. It doesn't seem like it's the usual stuffy place there, you know?"

"Yeah. It sounds like you'll fit in great. I can't wait to be the cute girlfriend, dropping by to bring you lunch."

I laugh. "Me neither. Although sometime while I'm working there, I hope you'll be my wife coming to bring me lunch."

She stills in my arms, eyes staring intently into mine. "Are you serious?"

"Of course I am."

Her lips quirk up, smile slowly spreading across her face. "Well, you let me know the time and place, Elijah, and I'll be becoming Mrs. Moores in a hurry."

"Really?"

"We're forever. I have no doubt in my mind and heart that we belong together for the rest of our lives. You and me, we're everything the other needs in every way. Where would we be without each other?"

I tighten my arms around her, the mere mention of us not being together making me bring her closer. "We'll never have to find out."

I kiss her, pouring all of my emotions into it, letting her know she's not just all I need, but all I want, all I dream of, all I hope for. She's all of me.

"Yes. Kiss me just like that on our wedding day," she says as she opens her eyes.

"Will do. Come on. We can go sneak some brownies from that bakery you like if you promise not to snitch on me to my grandma that we celebrated a little without her."

"Hmm, I make no guarantees."

When we get back to my house, I smile at the smell of different delicious aromas mixing together in the house. My grandma isn't making just one cake, it seems.

"Is that my working grandma's boy?" She shouts from the kitchen.

"Yes, Grandma." I chuckle. "You make it seem like I never had a job before."

"Yes, but this is a job that's a step in your career Elijah. It's different."

She hugs me when I get close enough, careful not to get the flour from her apron on my button-up shirt. Then she's hugging Jolie.

"You need any help?" Jolie asks.

"Yes, you can add the cocoa powder to that brownie mix over there."
