Putting my hands on my hips for effect, I bend down and get in her face. “And unlike you, I can not only afford bail, and my family has enough money to make you disappear. I’ll take your little girl and make sure she actually has a loving mother and decent role models. They will never find you if I want you gone.” My voice drops to a whisper as I add, “Do I make myself clear?”

Her face is noticeably pale despite the caked on makeup, and she looks like she might be sick. She hobbles to her feet, trying to stand on shaky legs in platform wedges that haven’t been popular since high school. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING JUST SITTING THERE? ARREST HER! SHE ASSAULTED ME!” she screeches.

Odin stands up, placing himself in the middle of me and Bodie’s psycho ex-girlfriend, which is funny, since I already got a hit in. He looks around at everyone, casting his gaze toward the staff and patrons who have been staring at our table since she started yelling. “Well, I don’t know about you fine folks, but I didn’t see anything.” He turns an inquisitorial look at her, raising his eyebrow as he asks, “Do you have any proof of the alleged assault?” He takes out his little notebook, and pulls the pen from its pocket, dramatically positioning it over a blank page.

She stares at him like he’s crazy and continues yelling. “YOU JUST WATCHED HER HIT ME! Everyone saw it! They have cameras. I’ll get the video!”

The waitress–whose name tag says Paige–chimes in, “Actually, they stopped working this morning. Bless your heart, I’m sorry we can’t help.” I can’t help but notice that she looks smug as fuck telling Victoria off.

Seeing she won’t have any luck with anyone here she glares at me. “This isn’t over, bitch,” she hisses, before storming out the door.

Everyone in the diner breaks out in applause and Paige grins, walking up and shaking my hand like I’m a small town hero. “Your meal is on the house, sweetheart,” she says before walking to the back.

As the noise dies down and everyone goes back to their food, my guys glance at me and I just shrug. “I will not let ANYONE disrespect my children, not after everything they have been through. Plus, I wanted to hit her since I saw she was being so horrible to her daughter. Gotta say, karma is a bitch, and that punch felt good.”

Odin kisses my head, grinning like Christmas just came early. “You’re full of surprises Babygirl.”
