The next couple moments seem to happen in slow motion. Silas and Odin both lunge for him simultaneously, the former grabbing his arms to hold him while the latter lands a punch straight to his nose with a sickening crunch.
Joe and José both go to help drag the now dazed–but still fighting–man out the door. I’m still standing there in shock, trying to figure what the actual fuck just happened. I hear Silas yell at Tim that he’s fired and his last check will be deposited as normal. All four of the men wait outside until Tim peels out of the parking lot before they all file back into the shop, Silas and Odin walk straight over to me and take turns checking on me.
Silas speaks up first. “I’m so sorry Wildflower, he’s always been an ass and kinda rude but ever since his wife cheated on him and ran off he’s been a complete dick to everyone.”
“I’m fine! Y’all don’t think you both overreacted just a little bit? He didn’t try to physically hurt me, he just said what everyone else will say when they find out I’m dating more than one man.”
“Who gives a damn what other people think, cariño? Life is too short for the opinion of others to stop you from doing what makes you happy!” José exclaims.
“Yeah, what he said. Silas told me years ago the kind of arrangement he and the others wanted and it made sense to me then. Besides, anyone that doesn’t support you isn’t someone you need in your life anyways,” Joe pipes up, patting my shoulder as he and José head into the maintenance bay.
“Thanks, you guys. Honestly, I originally thought other’s opinions would bother me more, but the only thing I’m really worried about is how people will treat my kids. They can say whatever about me, hell I’m used to it. However, I don’t need y’all coming to my rescue for everything,” I tell them, rolling my eyes.
“Yeah yeah, that won’t stop us Wildflower. Now then, let’s finish checking over your car so you won’t be late picking up the boys from school, even though I’m sure Vivi is enjoying having all Emma’s attention on her.”
Odin chuckles. “I’m going to have to leave Babygirl. I have to get back to the station to finish the report and everything from this morning’s incident. Besides, I think Orin wanted to be there when the boys got out of school, so he will meet you there.”
“Okay baby, that sounds great. Are you coming over when you get off?” I ask nervously, distantly realizing I really don’t want to be away from them. It’s pathetic, but I can’t help how attached I am to these men.
“Yeah Babygirl, but make sure to check with Emma. If she’s fine with all of us staying, then we will be there. I’ll text you,” he says, kissing me on my forehead and then heading to work.
I spend the next forty-five minutes handing Silas tools and just chit chatting about random stuff while he, Joe, and José do their thing. It’s really nice getting to spend time one on one with all of my guys when I can. That’s when it hits me…
“Oh fuck,” I mumble, although apparently not quite as softly as I thought.
“What is it, Wildflower?” Si asks, sliding his creeper from under my car.
“Well, I just realized the only one of y’all I haven’t spent any individual time with is Orin. I don’t want him to feel left out or anything, and I really do want to get to know him. We just haven’t had a chance,” I explain worriedly.
“Why don’t you text him and ask him to go to dinner when he’s off next, just you and him? I believe he’s off on Thursday. The others and I can help Emma with the kids,” he offers, standing and walking over to me. “I know things are new and we are all still getting to know one another, but never be worried to tell any of us how you feel, alright?” He kisses me, then picks up my phone out of my lap and puts it in my hands.
“Text him Wildflower, then there is something I want to discuss with you. Before you freak out, it’s nothing bad. I’m going to go wash up, and I’ll ride with you to get the boys.” As he walks away, I take his advice and text Orin.
Me: Hey Pet, how’s work going?
He texts back not even two minutes later.
Orin: It’s pretty boring without you, goddess. How has the rest of your day been?
Me: Pretty good. Just sitting at the shop with Si, handing him tools. I actually had a question I wanted to ask you…
Orin: What’s up sweetheart? Everything okay?
Me: Everything is perfect, I actually wanted to see if you would want to go on a date with me when you’re off next. We haven’t gotten to spend any alone time together.
I don’t think I’ve been so nervous waiting for a text ever before in my life….
Orin: I’d love to, sweetheart. I’m off Thursday. Can I plan it? I have an idea of somewhere I want to take you.
Me: Yeah if you want to, I’d love that. Are you still planning on meeting us at the school to get the boys? They should be getting out in an hour.
Orin: Yeah, I’m getting to leave now, but Callum is working till 7 so he will be at the house around eight. I’ll see you at the school in a little bit. I’m going to finish the last couple of things I have to do before I can leave. *Kissing face*
Me: Okay babe! See you there. *kissing face* *winking face*
“So I take it he said yes then?” Silas chirps from behind me, startling me and causing me to jump, accidentally smacking him in the balls with my phone. He grunts and cups his balls.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry! You scared the crap out of me!” I start to giggle at the look of shock on his face. “Are you okay?”
