“Yeah, I’m fine. Thankfully I moved back enough to where you barely got me. Back to the question. Did he say yes?”

“He did and you were right about Thursday. What did you need to talk to me about?” I ask nervously.

He chuckles. “I swear Wildflower, it’s nothing bad. I just wanted to talk with you about the stuff with Callum. I guess… I needed to make sure it’s really okay with you, if we see where things go?”

I give him a sweet smile, flattered by his concern. “Yes Silas, I’m one hundred percent sure I’m fine with it. Honestly, I find it hot as hell. Have you always been attracted to him, or any other guys in general?”

He looks lost in thought for a moment. “Well truthfully, when I was younger, I always thought it was normal to find both boys and girls attractive. Then as I got older, it became mostly women and only a few guys, so I always had to make sure to look away in the locker rooms. My family was super conservative and religious, so coming out as anything but straight would have never been an option. When the guys and I moved here for them to go to college and for me to go to trade school, that’s when I finally tried different things.”

Silence descends as he pauses, staring off into space before he continues. “I think I always knew I was attracted to Callum, but I would have never considered acting on it because I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. I guess I should thank you for giving us a chance to explore…whatever it is between us.”

He bends down and gives me a deep kiss. When I feel his tongue dip into my mouth, I groan and force myself to pull away. “As much as I want to go for round two, we need to head out to get the boys.”

He kisses me again. “I know. You’re just so damn sexy, it’s hard to keep my hands off of you.”

I laugh at him. “Flattery will get you everywhere, honey. Now, let’s go get the monkeys. I’m nervous and ready to see how their day went.”

“Me too, but I’m sure they did great.”

The ride to the school is quiet, and I’m sure he can feel the nerves coming off me. We pull into the school and Orin is already there and parked. As soon as the car is stopped, I jump out and walk over to hug him. Silas follows behind me, and together we all walk to the parent pick up area in the front of the school. Most of the moms gathered there are older and offer us friendly smiles.

Then I see Victoria. She’s put makeup on to cover the bruises but not much can cover the bandage on her very broken nose. I smirk at her, and if looks could kill, I’d drop dead right here. She’s standing on the outside of the area with four other women who all look as fake and plastic as she does.

I don’t have a chance to pay closer attention to other women because just then the bell rings. A couple moments later I see my boys walk out of the school, and they both look happy. Once they see me and the guys they immediately come running over. Instead of hugging me first, they both lunge for the guys.

“What am I? Chopped liver?” I grumble.

“I wanna hug you too mommy, but I’m not used to having a daddy that wants to see me.. now I have FIVE!” Arden exclaims.

Nothing like that innocent reminder to act like a swift kick to the lady balls.
