“You rolled through that stop sign back there,” she tells me very abruptly.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I did that,” I say politely, though in my mind I know I did no such thing. What’s this lady’s problem?

“License, registration, and proof of insurance,” she demands, with an unprofessional and uncalled for attitude.

“No problem, officer. My insurance card is on my phone, but my driver’s license is in the middle console and my registration is in the glove box. I also have my personal firearm on a magnetic holster beside my leg. How would you like to handle this?” I ask, just like Odin taught me.

She puts her hand on her firearm, looking like she’s seconds away from pulling it out. “Alright, I’m going to need you to stick your hand out the window and open the door. Once you step out, I’ll secure your weapon.” I start to follow her instructions, but the minute I go to step out, she grabs me and slams me into the side of the SUV, using her forearm to hold me in place with my arms behind me.

“Hey! What was that for? I was doing everything just as you asked!” I exclaim, trying really hard not to go into a panic attack, despite my face being squished to the car and unable to turn my head.

She looks at me with pure hatred in her cold gaze, and I hear the snap of her holster. “You know what you did you stupid slut. All of this is your fault. You ruined everything!”

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!” I yell at her.

“Isla, what is going on?” My grandmother calls from the passenger side.

“Keep your ass in that car old lady, or I’ll arrest you, too!” Heather raises her voice to threaten.

“What the fuck for? What is going on here? Mind explaining to me why the hell you’re detaining my girlfriend, and why you look like you’re about to draw your sidearm?” I hear Odin call from somewhere behind me.

“She was fighting with me, reached down near her firearm without telling me about it, and was trying to run off!” she tells him without missing a beat. What the fuck is wrong with this crazy bitch?

“Yeah, I highly doubt that, especially since Mrs. Emma called me as soon as you told Isla to get out of the car. I sent a message to the chief, by the way. He’s waiting on you, so I strongly suggest you get your hands off her and leave.” Odin walks over, placing himself between me and her as she takes a step back.

I hear the door open moments before my grandmother comes flying around the corner. “YOU CRAZY, LYING, STUPID BITCH! I don’t what your fucking problem is, and I don’t really care, but if I EVER catch you near my family again, I promise you’ll fucking regret it! I saw everything, you know. You’re just some dumb childish bitch on a fucking power trip, and you need to remember that badge only gives you limited power. You won’t win if you try to go up against me, and I’ll fucking destroy you so you can never get another decent job, certainly not one in MY town.” She is breathing heavily by the end of her rant.

Heather glares at me, pushing past Odin and slamming me into the side of my car again. “This isn’t over, slut,” she whispers menacingly as she stomps back to her car, just as two more units pull up.

“Odin, what the fuck was that about?” I choke out, trying not to sob.

“I don’t know Babygirl, but I’m going to figure it out,” he says gently, pulling me in for a hug and rubbing calming circles on my back.

From the corner of my eye, I see my grandmother swing her head to glare at Odin. “I want that bitch arrested and I want her badge taken permanently. You better tell the chief I will rain down hell if she isn’t held responsible.”

“Oh, she will be,” he replies. “I’ll make sure of it. There was absolutely no reason for how she acted, and this isn’t the first time we’ve had an issue with her. It’s always something with other women involved, too. She pulled over Victoria and arrested her not long after her and Bodie started dating.”

I swear my heart stops for an instant as what he said registers. Wait... What if…

“Odin, she’s the stalker,” I deadpan, looking up into his eyes.

He stares at me for a moment, and I can tell when he comes to the same conclusion as he sags against my car. “Oh, shit. Babygirl, you’re probably right. She could go anywhere and no one would pay attention to a cop walking around other cars. I don’t understand why, though. I’ve never shown any interest in her. Nevermind the fact that the others have only seen her at work functions or when the whole shift would go out for drinks.”

I shrug, just as confused. “Well, for some reason, she seems to have it in her mind that you five belong to her. Hopefully, we can find concrete proof and have that bitch arrested. For now though, I need to get back to the house. My nerves are shot and I think I want a bath with a glass of Jack and coke.”

After we finish answering all the other police officers' questions, I kiss Odin bye and head home. My grandmother decides to drive since I’m still shaken up, and Odin said he will call the others and let them know what’s going on so I don’t have to.

When we pull up at the house, Bodie and Silas are already waiting at the door. They don’t say anything, Bodie walking over to get the bags while Silas grabs my hand and leads me through the house to our wing and straight to the bathroom. I’m so numb that I barely pay attention, walking more on autopilot than any sense of direction. Sometimes it’s nice having more than one man, I realize. Odin definitely called ahead and now they’re here to soothe all my jagged edges, no questions asked.

What I walk into takes my breath away, as I slowly come back to reality. They have dozens of candles all over the bathroom and strategically along the tub. The bamboo bath tray has a tumbler sitting on it, of what I’m assuming is Jack and coke. There is also a bath bomb, along with a jar of Epsom salt next to it, and my tablet already has my Spotify playing my favorite playlist. On a small table next to the tub, they have two small bowls of my favorite snacks: chocolate drizzled popcorn and cheese pretzels.

I stop and look at Silas, speechless with tears running down my face. No one has ever done anything like this for me before. I used to live every day in fear, yet now one incident and they all go the extra mile to help calm me back down. The simple kind gestures mean almost as much as their sweet words.

He wipes the tears off my face. “We know what happened today was stressful for you, and Odin mentioned you wanting a bath and a drink. However, we also knew you wouldn’t actually take the time to do anything for yourself.” He leads me over to the side toilet and has me sit down so he can start taking my shoes off. “With that in mind, we decided to make sure you would. So Bodie and the kids made the snacks, and I got the bathroom set up.”

He pulls me to stand and starts stripping my clothes off. “Now, you are going to get your sexy ass in that tub, you’re going to listen to music, lean back, close your eyes, and enjoy the snacks and drink until you feel like you have calmed down and are ready to face everything.”

He holds my hand, helping me step into the tub, and I groan at the skin melting water temperature. Just how I like it, too hot for Satan.
