She smiled softly. “That is a possibility. I’ve always wanted to experience more of the world outside this realm.”

“We’ll take you anywhere you want to go,” Xander said, throwing the words at her loudly, like he was offering her the world. Given she’d seen so little of it, perhaps in her eyes he was. “We don’t have to go back to our pack right away. We can travel to Canada, or even take a trip overseas. Anywhere you like. We don’t mind. Whatever you’d like to do, we’re in.”

“One hundred percent agreed,” I said, though the idea of not going back to the pack was strange.

Her smile lit up her whole face. “I’d love to travel a bit, if you guys are willing?”

“We definitely are,” I said. “Doesn’t anyone in this coven ever leave?”

She dropped her head. “A few of the warlocks travel beyond the realm, but it’s not encouraged for any of the witches.”

I groaned. Sexist bastards. Was that the high warlock’s doing? “Well, you’ll love our pack then. The women practically run the place.”

Monique looked up at me, her eyes wide. “Really? I like the sound of that.”

I laughed. “Female shifters are tough and strong. You’ll never be told you can’t do something if you join our family.”

Her face turned serious, then she nodded slowly. “You’re close to your families?”

I grinned at her. “Wolves are pack animals, and wolf shifters are pretty much the same. I couldn’t imagine not having a large family around me.”

Although that had been the fear, of course. That with the curse, we’d die out. Mate-less. Child-less. Our family and eventually our pack... gone.

Monique stood up and tugged us to our feet. “Let’s go for a walk. I want to show you more of my home.”

“Okay,” I said, following her to the door.

“You coming?” I called out to Xander, who was still standing by the table, looking strangely uncomfortable.

He nodded. “Yep. I am.”

With those words, and the long look he shot me, he sealed a pact between us. We were both in this together, and our mate wanted us both. So, despite the fact neither of us wanted to share her, Monique would be ours.

We just had to work out a way to get her home.
