Eva’s words echoed through Emily’s mind, and she stilled. Why couldn’t she? Nash was fighting for her—she could fight for him.

She took a steadying breath. “Let’s play the video that he gave you,” she told Liv. Glancing over at Mia, she tried to look like she knew what she was doing. “Tell the band we’re switching the set list. The first song is ‘Little Miss Small Town.’”

Mia’s hand went to her sleeve, her eyes pleading. “Let me take care of it. We’ll postpone the show or–or I’ll make some sort of statement.”

Emily shook her head. “No. Let me go out there.”

Mia bit at her trembling lip. “Your fans are going to murder you out there.”

“It’s okay,” Emily said. “I’m not afraid.”

Not anymore, and never again.
