And I chose Maverick to kiss me.

It was that easy.

And as long as I kept it that easy, nothing bad could ever happen.

It was a light practice day.

The team had gotten their ass roasted hard over the two away-game losses.

Maverick had to face everyone for his decision to leave early.

There were rumors that Maverick was looking to be traded.

Things had quite the tense feel.

And it was in some way all my fault.

Which was why today mattered so much.

Maverick was at practice with the team.

I was at practice to take a bunch of pictures.

In other words - things were back to normal for everyone.

That’s what we all needed.

Even though I secretly hoped I wouldn’t be taking pictures for theApple Catsfor much longer.

During any free time I had, I worked on Chelsea’s wedding pictures.

I had over one thousand pictures to sort through.

My plan was to find the best ones and edit them. Clean them up.

Make that into the official wedding album for Chelsea and John.

Then I’d send her all the other pictures too.

They weren’t going to do me any good just sitting in storage somewhere.

So far Chelsea was over the moon with the images I had sent to her.

Not only was she happy, she paid me, and she told me she was telling everyone she knew about me. I told her I would take pictures of any event. Weddings, birthdays, births, baby showers, graduations. Anything.

I heard a loudthudand turned my head to see Remi pinning Riff against the boards.

As soon as Maverick looked, he jumped up, took his mask off, and skated toward the two hockey players.

I didn’t know much about the team but there was some kind of tension between Remi and Riff.

In a matter of seconds, Riff had dropped his stick and gloves.

He reached for Remi just as Maverick got between the two.

Reid and Matias skated to Remi and pulled him back.

Abel and Lay pulled Riff back.
