“I know,” Zoe said. “Okay, so now someone knows, right? What happens next?”

“Nothing,” I said. “I have to find a way to not worry about it.”

“That’s it?” Zoe asked. “You brought us over here for that?”

“I have to trust this guy to not say anything,” I said. “I have to look at him and know he knows about me and Maverick. Then I have to look at Maverick and I just…”

“You get all wet and messy, right?” Eva asked.

I looked at Eva. “Right.”

“So, take all the other work,” Zoe said. “From Chelsea. This is an easy situation.”

“Nothing about this is easy,” I said. “The point now is that we messed up. We got caught by one person. That means it can happen again. This is tough to keep doing.”

“All this over a lucky shirt, huh?”

“I know,” I said. “That’s the worst part about it.”

“This is not about a shirt,” Zoe said. “But go on…”

“I’m just making the point that if we got caught once, we can get caught again,” I said. “He comes over here so much. Walks through the front door.”

“Would you rather him use your backdoor?” Eva asked.

“I don’t have a backdoor,” I said.

Eva laughed.

Zoe patted my shoulder. “She wasn’t talking about a door.”

“Oh,” I said. Then it hit me. “Oh… Eva… no.”

“What?” Eva asked. “He’s big, strong and sexy.”

“And that instantly implies he should stick it in my butt?” I asked.

“If you like that stuff,” Eva said.

“I’m really trying to be serious here,” I said.

“Not sure what you want us to do,” Zoe said. “You either keep going, tone it down, or end it. We’re not you, Madison. You’re not us.”

“All you’ve ever wanted was to be a photographer,” Eva said. “You have a chance now. Your father is a tough man. He’s protective. He worries. I get that. But if you showed him what you had going on, he’d be proud of you and support you.”

“Okay, that’s the career part,” I said. “That’s not the other part.”

“The Maverick situation,” Zoe said. “What would he do? Your father? Honestly. Would he really go after Maverick? It’s not like Maverick is screwing ten other women and treats you like crap.”

“It’s a touchy thing,” Eva said to Zoe. “For obvious reasons.”

“I’m not getting into that right now,” I said. “I’m just trying to figure this out. To accept that we screwed up and got caught. We just have to be more careful about this thing. That’s all. Just be very careful. Stick to what we’ve been doing. The lucky shirt thing was my fault. I got emotionally attached to some dumb superstition. I won’t let that happen again.”

“Attached to the superstition or to something else?” Zoe asked.

“Yes, I’m attached to his cock,” I said. “Fine. I’ll admit that before you two make it weird.”

“Glad you admitted to that,” Eva said.
