I looked over my shoulder. While the rest of the team was talking, Abel had his eyes locked on Wren and me.
“He really loves you both,” I whispered.
“Yes, he does,” Wren said. “That’s one thing I know for sure.”
“I better give you your bundle of joy back,” I said. “Hope she naps all day for you.”
“I don’t want that,” Wren said. “Then she’ll be up all night.”
“Want me to scream and wake her up then?” I offered.
“That’s real funny,” Wren said. “Walk me back to the stroller.”
When we got to the stroller, Izzy’s eyes slowly opened again.
“Was she sleeping?” Abel asked.
“Yeah, she dozed off on Uncle Mav,” I said.
“Can we borrow you in the middle of the night?” Abel asked.
“That sounds kinky,” Lay said.
“Will you go get on the ice?” Remi growled at Lay.
“He’s got five seconds before I do something to him,” Wren warned.
“What kind of things do you want to do to me?” Lay asked.
“I’ve got this one,” Reid said.
He grabbed the back of Lay’s practice jersey and began to drag him toward the ice.
I handed the baby back to Wren and retrieved my gear off the floor.
It was time for practice.
The first thirtyminutes I was locked in.
I didn’t give up a single shot.
Coach even had us run plays with tons of traffic behind the net and in front of the net.
My eyes were as sharp as my reflexes.
Then Madison showed up.
It had been two days since our morning conversation at her place.
And respectively speaking, me spending the night at a woman’s place like that was unheard of. But something kind of clicked inside me when Madison grabbed my hand.
I knew now she was hoping to grab my dick, but got my hand by accident.
Even still, Madison had a bold enough attitude to correct that mistake. There was no need for her to pull me closer to her and want me to stay.
Just like I had a bold enough attitude to get the hell out of her apartment when she went to take a shower. Except I didn’t leave.
I sat up in her bed and told myself there was a stunningly beautiful, naked woman in the bathroom, stepping into the shower. A woman who knew how to move her body in very deadly ways. A woman who knew how to have fun and keep things light yet a little serious when it came to us being a total secret.
