Holding out a hand, I put mine in his, and we walk to the bathroom. Kris turns on the rainfall showerhead and waits until it’s warm before he steps under it. Reaching down, I pull my dress over my head and let it fall to the floor, followed by my bra and shoes.
Kris pulls me under the warm water. “Why were you wearing that dress and those shoes?”
“We’re having a dinner party.”
“We are? Babe, I’m not sure I’m very good company right now.”
“It’s you, me, Todd, Shannon, and Clive.”
“Clive? You rang Clive?”
“Yeah, I thought you might like a friend to talk to.”
His eyebrows draw together, and he bends slightly to look deeper into my eyes. “You did that for me?” I nod. “Best. Wife. Ever.”
