“No.”

And he went back to eating bacon.

“Okay. Is Garret your mate?” I asked, thinking back to what Parris had said about Synians and bonds. I scanned his neck for the bite mark, but there was nothing there. There weren't even the bite marks and brands of Synian ownership. “Does Garret own you?”

“No and no.” He grinned at me before plopping another piece of bacon in his mouth.

“Are you a Synian?” I already knew the answer to that. The guy was a furnace.

“No. I’m not human either.”

I waited for him to elaborate, but he just continued to eat bacon. Watching me with eyes that were alight with the game. Clearly, I wasn’t getting much out of him.

“What’s your name?” Time to go for something basic.

“Elliot. Are you going to keep playing twenty questions, Jaide, or are you going to ask the questions that you actually want the answers to?” He was all smiles as he leaned against the table, hip popped playfully. Something that would have been normal if he wasn’t completely naked. Instead, it sent his cock dangling and my stomach clenching.

Considering this naked Adonis already knew my name, he had all the cards and he knew it.

“I did want the answer to ‘is Garret your mate’.”

He clicked his tongue and shook his head, “No, you want to know what those men have planned for you. You want to know where he is.”

My spine straightened as he lifted the piece of paper from the table, the one with Dawn’s warning written on it.

“Holy stone dicks!” I shrieked in a panic, reaching for the paper with all the force of a tiny naked tornado. Elliot sidestepped me before I reached him. Normal people would be able to stop when something like that happened, but not me! I went face first into the table, sending bacon, eggs, porridge, and something brown and slimy all over me.

Elliot laughed riotously, the sound almost musical. It might have been pretty if he wasn’t laughing at the fact that I now had scrambled egg in my butt crack.

“Give that back!” I said, twisting around in a pool of bacon to grab at the air as I tried to snatch the paper. Elliot just stepped back, still laughing as I shuffled out of my breakfast. The useless shift was now covered in gravy, which actually made it more useful. You could only see one of my boobs now.

“No. But not because you shouldn’t have it. You should know better than to leave incriminating evidence around. You should know better than to ask just anyone about him. You’re lucky I came back to get my bag. If Aldric had found this…” He tsked as he crumpled up the paper, popped it in his mouth and swallowed it. “You could have ruined everything we’ve been working towards, Jaide.”

“What?” Egg in the crack be damned, Elliot knew something. “You know my brother? What do you know?”

He nodded once, picking some egg from my hair as he leaned in.

“What do I know about Jett? Or about where the fourth king took him?”

“The fourth…” I stammered and slipped against the gravy on the floor. I almost went down, but it really didn’t matter. Not with what he just said. “The fourth king has my brother?”

He nodded again. “And Garret and I have been working to find him. To find out where he took him. You being here? Well it's actually kind of a miracle. It’s why they are sharing you, you know. To keep you away from Aldric, so he doesn’t drag you after Theon…” He lifted his hand to remove some more egg from my hair, only to freeze, his eyes darting toward the door behind us in a panic.

“I’ll be back tonight. I’ll tell you more then, if you survive what’s coming for you that is.” He gave me one more look before he darted to the curtained window, disappearing behind the heavy velvet coverings.

I raced after him. Ain’t no way in this Synian hell I was going to let him get out of here after dropping that bomb.

I was too late. He was gone before I reached him, the window closed, no sign of him in the stone courtyard that was five stories below.

The stone courtyard that was blown to bits.

It had clearly once been a garden, with roses and hedges and statues of cherubs or some shit. Now, the hedges were littered with the dark outlines of shrubbery that smoked as though it was still burning. Bits of stone were scattered from holes in the ground wide enough to swallow my junker car. One statue was missing its head, and another an arm, but in the center was a hole that appeared to go down forever, red hot rock still flickering away within its depths.

It wasn’t an explosion, it was a war zone. And it clearly hadn’t just been one explosion.

“Shit.” This decreased my chances of getting out of here. Even if I could scale down the wall, something about the courtyard looked radioactive. I didn’t want to risk it.

So, unless I could fly, or whatever Elliot had done, any chance of escape was out the door for me. At least I had a weapon now, even if it was a rubber dong. I was two steps toward the erect dildo on the table when the door swung open, Dawn stepping through.

“Perfect!” I needed answers, and she could give them to me. I was all smiles as she stepped in, but she only shook her head furiously, her face pulled down in horror as she stepped back and opened the door for the last person I wanted to see.

Aldric stood there in the same suit as last night, although this time the collar was stained with blood, bright red streaks having dripped down the front. His hands were stained with drops of red, as was the knife that he was flipping end over end, just like Elliot had the dildo. The knife was sending a completely different sensation through me, however. Panic flared over my spine, my hands shaking as I stepped back and he stepped in.

“And they thought they could hide my pet from me,” he said with a grin that belonged in an insane asylum. “Hello, pet. Daddy’s here, and he wants to play.”
