31Jaide

"Aldric,"I gasped, clutching at the air as though a weapon would just appear there. There was nothing but swirls of dust, the gritty texture of the air making all of this worse somehow.

"Now, now, that's not what you call me, is it?" His was icy in warning, the danger clear. I should run, I should step away. But I was still in heat, and he was my Alpha. Everything in me wanted him. I was still a needy beast needing to be filled.

I knew I should be scared.

But I couldn't. Not with the way he wrapped his arm around my stomach, not with the way his hand dipped between my thighs in search of the sopping wet that was there. His fingers slid between my folds, the pads of his fingers brushing against my clit before they pressed their way into me.

"What do you call me, pet," he hissed in my ear and I shuddered, moaning as he moved his fingers apart, stretching me.

"Da--"

"Take your fucking hands off her!" Elliot snarled, breaking through the choking ash in a swirl of wind before he materialized, every inch of him snarling as his tattoos moved over his body.

They fucking moved they were snakes and not ink. What I had thought were waves before swirls of wind, the bird gliding through the dark lines before it came to rest not on his neck where it had been before, but on his chest, right over his heart.

"Holy shit!" I shrieked, not that anyone heard me, Aldric was too busy snarling, Elliot was grinning, and the sounds of battle were now everywhere. Garret and Parris's grunts mixed with Dawn shrieks.

"A Sylph!" Aldric snarled, his fingers gripping so tightly inside of me it hurt.

I gasped as his fingers slipped deeper, clenching me as he lifted me off the ground. He held me against him by just the arm and the hand that was clawing at my pussy, filling me with a weird mix of need and panic. I didn't know if it felt good. I didn't know if I wanted this.

Not from him. Not anymore.

Even with his mark on my wrist, even with his claim on me as my Alpha; something was wrong. But I couldn't think straight enough in my heat to know what.

"Let her go!" Elliot rephrased, his body slipping in and out of existence as a Synian rushed him from the side. Elliot was there one second, gone in a rush of wind as a Synian stumbled through the shadow of him and into nothing, and then back in his body, the tattoo of the bird soaring to his other shoulder and he rematerialized. He didn't even miss a step. If I had blinked I would have missed the whole thing.

"Let her go?" Aldric parroted in what he clearly thought was a threat, if it wasn't for the way his voice shook I would have thought it was. The claws of his fingers curled inside me and I gasped, Elliot snarling as yet another one of Aldric's men rushed him. "You can't even reach her, why would I let her go."

Aldric stepped back, still pressing me against him as my head began to swim, my heat that was still raging through my body responding to his thumb as he began to move it over my clit.

"I will never let her go," Aldric hissed against my neck, his fangs pulling at my skin with each word. "She is my Omega. My mate. I marked her. I get to keep her, and I will stop anyone who thinks they get to touch this puss. This cunt is mine. It was meant for me."

I howled as he gripped me, the motion of his thumb increasing, pulling me closer and closer to climax. I tried to grab at his hand, to push him away, but his free hand was ready, grabbing my wrists in a vice. I was restrained, trapped.

"I will make her come, and then I will feast on her. If you don't back down I will show you just how far I can take that. If you don't give her just to me, then I promise you that no one will have her. There will be nothing left to have."

"Stop," I whispered, just as I felt my body tense, that fluid motion of his thumb taking me right where I didn't want to be.

I screamed as I came, my head falling back on his shoulder as he continued to twist his thumb over my clit. A white light exploded through the room.

I fell to the ground as the blast moved through everything in a rush of wind and lightning, Aldric thrown from me, my hair flying everywhere as my knees slammed into the floor. It felt as though something had slammed into my chest. I couldn't breathe, the weight pressing against me as I gasped in panic, sucking in the dust and ash from the walls as they all began to collapse around me.

"Come on," Elliot said as the world swirled around me, the wind of him clearing the air a second before he appeared before me. "We have to go."

One second his hands were wrapped around me, the next it felt as though the world was exploding. As though I was exploding. Every inch of me was on fire, as though I was being pulled apart cell by cell. I tried to scream, but no sound came out, only the roar of air as the pain finally began to subside.

The room was gone. The ash was gone.

Hell, everything was gone but Elliot who was hovering over me as though he was afraid I was about to explode. Was I? I kind of felt like it, all of that blazing pain was still trying to rip me apart inch by inch anyway. Maybe if I exploded it would make it all go away.

"Jaide," Elliot gasped, even though I could see him over me, he sounded as though he was far away. "Jaide. Say something. Tell me you are okay."

"Well, which is it? Do you want me to say 'something' or do you want me to tell you I'm okay?" Even talking hurt. My throat was on fire. I still hadn't taken the whole exploding thing off the table.

"Oh thank god," Elliot whispered, his arms wrapping around me as he held me against him, pressing me against his war, body as he kissed my hair. "I haven't done that in a century."
