Chapter 6

(Taj)

______

I groan, as I wake up to the sound of pounding on the door. It takes me a second to remember last night’s events but when I do, I inwardly sigh before walking toward the door. I’m wondering what the person wants so early in the morning. I open the door and Petal stands on the other side, a frown on her face and her dark hair in disarray.

And yet, she looks so beautiful my mouth dries. I could stand here watching her all day.

“Hey,” I say. Judging by the expression on her face, she didn’t forget last night’s events as I hoped.

I really thought she would forget like the last time.

She glares at me without saying anything. For so long that I start to feel uncomfortable.

“What?” I ask.

“You’re so infuriating!” she yells, shoving me backward into my room. I almost stumble.

I really don’t know where she gets the strength to push me. I’m fucking twice her size.

“Petal,” I say calmly.

“Do you despise me that much?” she asks.

“What?” I ask in surprise.

“You don’t find me desirable at all, “she mutters.

The anger suddenly fades on her face, replaced by sadness and I realize she really does believe what she’s saying which is ridiculous.

How could I find her anything but desirable?

“Petal, you have no idea how I feel,” I tell her.

She tears up.

“Why did you push me away last night?” she asks punching my chest. It’s a light punch that does no damage.

“Why are you always pushing me away? I’m sick and tired of it,” she says.

I catch her wrist in my hand before bringing my other hand to cup her face. Is she kidding me? If it was really up to me, I would never push her away, I’ve wanted her since the first time I met her.

“Listen to me,” I say firmly. “I think you’re the most beautiful person in the world. You radiate light and I literally melt anytime you smile. I always want to spend time with you and your intelligence turns me on more than anything in the world.”

I’m breathing heavily by the time I’m done. Petal looks into my eyes with a dazed expression on her face.

“Do you really mean all that?” she asks me quietly.

I nod.

“I’ve meant it since the first time I met you,” I tell her.

She grins then, a beautiful dazzling grin that shows off her pearly white teeth. Then the grin disappears.

“But why…”

I already know what she wants to ask but I don’t want to answer right now. I’m kissing her before either of us can blink. My tongue slides through her parted lips in a greedy stroke. She gasps with delight, her tongue tangling with mine and then I begin kissing my way down her neck.
