Page 6 of All In With Love

“Definitely not. But you have other friends, you have me and Lizzy. Annabella and Rachael would also love to join. It could be a girl’s night. We could head to a club, dance, have drinks, it would be fun,” Jessie says enthusiastically.

It did sound fun. Really fun.

“Hold on, I was supposed to go out for dinner tomorrow with Amber,” Roman protests using the nickname he has for Lizzy.

“You can postpone that. It’s just for one night, Roman,” Jessie insists and I find myself nodding.

“It’s a great idea. Count me in,” I tell Jessie.

“Great, I’ll inform the other girls,” Jessie replies before walking away.

A girl’s night, that would be awesome. Especially since I’ve never really had any girlfriends in my entire life. Hell, until I joined Arcadian, my only friends were books. Now though, I’ve found a family and that family has expanded to provide me with four other wonderful women. It’s amazing.

I turn to Taj. He’s looking at me with a wide knowing grin. The smile tugs at my heart.

Immediately we step into the club, heads swivel in our direction. I mean, who can blame them? Five incredibly beautiful, extremely hot women just walked in, it’s natural we’re the center of attention.

Rachael whoops as she walks in. There’s a large smile on her face and she looks like she fits right in here. She’s wearing a short black dress with nude heels. That outfit, coupled with her red hair and green eyes and she looks every inch like a temptress, albeit one that is five feet tall.

“I haven’t been at a club in ages,” she yells loudly so we can hear her over the music.

Elizabeth laughs at her best friend.

“Rachael used to be a party girl,” she whispers in my ear and I nod, I deduced that.

Walking in here though, I remember that I’m not a big fan of clubs. Too much noise, it irks me.

As if Lizzy is reading my thoughts, she suggests that we head into a private room that the club provides. There’s less noise and it’s cozier. All of us sit together on a large black circular couch.

“Drinks please,” Rachael says to a waiter before joining us on the couch.

I can totally see how she and Alan click. She has this energy buzzing around her. She’s probably the only one that can keep up with his mischievousness. She engages everyone in conversation and soon it’s laughter all around. It's nice conversing with all of them.

Annabella is probably the quietest of all of us. Brock’s girlfriend is busy texting someone on her phone. I see her the most out of all the girls since she lives in the mansion with Brock. I was surprised she even came with us tonight, considering she’s a few months pregnant. Which is why I already know she’s texting a very worried man on her phone.

“Can’t Brock leave you alone for more than a few minutes?” I call out to her teasingly.

She laughs softly.

“He’s asking for the location of the club. It seems all the guys want to know,” Bella tells us and the rest of the women groan.

“Tell him to leave you alone,” Jessie grumbles. Bella sets her phone down a minute later.

The drinks arrive and soon the party is in full swing. I’ve never really liked drinking. Mostly because I’m terrible at it. I have really low tolerance but I can’t very well refuse to drink right now. I take a shot of tequila to the cheers of the other women.

“So Petal, what’s going on between you and Taj?” Bella questions curiously.

She’s the only one not drinking here but she seems to be enjoying herself.

“Nothing,” I mumble.

Lizzy bumps my shoulder.

“It’s not nothing. It’s obvious you both have feelings for each other. What’s the story?”

I already predicted that this would be a topic of discussion but I hadn’t predicted that the alcohol would loosen my lips. I find myself telling them the truth.
