“That’s in town,” Brock mumbled.
“Alright, boys, this is where your job ends.” Gomez stepped forward. She held out her hand. “Give me the phone.”
Ian put the phone behind his back. “With all due respect, I can’t do that.”
“You’recivilians. Under no circumstances will we permit you to step in the line of fire.” Her features were hard, unyielding.
“You can’t stop us. We’ve seen the address. We’re going.”
The agents exchanged glances. Gomez let out a heavy sigh. “Fine. But you stay in your vehicles until the coast is clear.”
Ian nodded. But they were idiots if they thought he’d just leave Jessica’s safety up to them. The second they got to the address, he’d use everything in his power to get to her.
