He ran his hand through his hair then turned as if he felt my eyes on him. A smile slowly spread across his face and my knees went rubbery. It took me a moment to realize what I was feeling as I thought this was only a feeling in a movie, not something I could actually feel.

He came over to me with his hand stretched out. I hesitated to take it unsure what the gesture meant. His hand wrapped around mine and he guided me to the table, pulled out a chair, then motioned for me to sit.

This completely felt like a movie. I squeezed my eyes shut then blinked them open and I was still on the rooftop, sitting at the table.

“What would you like to eat?” he asked as he sat.

“Is this how you billionaires eat?” I cocked my head. “…purchase a whole floor just for the night to impress a woman? A woman you’ve already gone to bed with by the way.”

Julian chuckled, “actually, I own the building if that makes you feel any better.”

“How many buildings do you own? A hundred? A thousand?”

His eyes twinkled as he paused then said, “a hundred thousand.”

“You are kidding, right?”

“No,” his eyes were serious. He held my gaze for a minute before his cheeks flushed with red, and he said, “you are very beautiful.”

“Why Mr. Seven, aren’t you a sweetheart. Usually, it’s the woman who is all giggly with flushed cheeks.”

It was in that moment I knew I felt something for this man. I could not quite say what it was, but it made my stomach tingle. I forgot about the chip in my head pushing against my life span. For this brief second, I was normal.

“Stay still,” I told him.

“Why…?”

“I want to capture this moment in my head, and I want to remember it always…even when I am not here.”

“Gia.”

“Please. Just stay still.”

After a few seconds of complete silence, I picked up the menu from the table as an excuse to hide my burning cheeks.
