Epilogue

Seven months later

“Holy shit, look at all these bitches.”

I hit Carlos upside the back of his head.

“How many times do I have to tell you not to call women bitches?” I snap at him.

“Oh, don’t be jelly, Mamacita. I only have eyes for you.” He beams up at me. I fight to stop my lips from twitching as a shadow falls over us.

Carlos’s eyes go wide as he looks behind me.

“Boy,” I hear Graves’s deep voice rumble over me, making me shiver.

Carlos stands there for a minute before grinning. “See ya.” He runs away before Graves can grab him.

“Oh, leave him be. He’s harmless.”

“Give him a few more years, and you’ll have teenage girls coming to you in tears because he broke their hearts.”

I frown at that. Maybe I should talk to him.

Graves laughs. “I see you’re getting it now.”

“Asshole. Where is everyone else anyway?”

“Vega and Blink are getting ready for the fight. Law is finishing up a class, so he’ll be here in about thirty minutes. Your girls are peeing. Apparently, it takes all three of them.”

I laugh. We might be assassins, but we are all still girls at heart. And girls pee together.

“It’s a girl thing. We like to grope each other’s breasts and compliment them.”

He pauses. “Wait, really?”

I slap his chest. “No. Well, actually, that’s not true. Nobody is as handsy as drunk girls in a restroom, comparing boobs.”

“Jesus, don’t ever tell Carlos that. He’ll set up a fucking tent in one of the stalls and never leave.”

I laugh, and he takes my hand, leading me over to the group of kids we had brought for opening night.

“So, what do you all think?”

“It’s dope as fuck,” Dwayne exclaims.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. “Don’t say fuck.”

“It’s beautiful, Miss Malice.”

“Why, thank you, Kenzie.” I smile at her.

“Do we really get to fight here if we train hard enough?” Josh asks.

“You keep your shit tight at home and come to us if you need help.” He glares at them all to get his point across. “Show respect and a willingness to learn, and yeah, abso-fucking-lutely.”

“Fuck, yes,” Josh whoops.

“Don’t say fuck. Fucking hell, doesn’t anyone listen to me?” I throw my hands up in the air in frustration.
