Just for Kai. Only Kai.

So, she poured everything she had into this kiss. As if she’d never kissed another man, and never would again.

His lips parted readily against her plunder. She took full advantage with her marauding tongue.

Someone moaned. She thought it might have been her.

Someone grunted. She knew it to be him as he stood with her still wrapped around his torso and hips, walking them both out of the longhouse, away from the friendly hooting and backslapping of the villagers.

They paid no mind to anyone else as he stumbled toward the barn with her in tow.

Their mouths stayed melded together, fused as one, as their tongues advanced and retreated, Kai conquering her just as thoroughly as she conquered him.

Like two opposing forces who tore down each other’s walls and clashed together in a final, spectacular bid for supremacy, no holds barred. No surrender.

The more she took from him, the more she demanded. The more he pushed her, the more she gave.

Clothes were torn open and thrown off their bodies. Boots landed haphazardly with heavy thuds wherever they tossed them.

She loved that he was so tall, so big and strong. He could take her physically, hold her weight as if she was light as a feather. He bore her clawing, possessive hands readily, as if he relished the way she marked him even as he hissed at the small pains.

And still she kissed him, biting his lips, dueling his tongue.

This was not the time for gentleness, and frankly Eir wasn’t sure she had that particular speed.

She wanted to devour him. She’d been starving. After this graceless sensorial feast, when her appetite for this incredible man had been somewhat assuaged, she’d slow down a bit and savor him.

But right now, she wanted him. Hard. Fast. Everything.

All at once.

Suddenly, He pulled her head back with the hand in her hair and separated their mouths.

Both of them were breathing harshly, out of breath, their lips swollen and slicked with each other’s essence. In the errant beams of moonlight that filtered through gaps in the wooden planks of the barn, they stared into each other’s eyes.

His gaze burned right into her, swirling firestorms that churned her emotions like a maelstrom at sea.

She couldn’t breathe as she held his gaze. An indefinable ache bloomed within her chest, like hot lava melting through ancient ice.

What was he searching for in her eyes, she wondered? What did he see?

For the first time, Eir opened herself up to let another truly delve inside her.

Seeher.

The Valkyrie. The warrior.

The woman for whom he’d marked himself.

She hoped it was enough, whatever he saw. There was no turning back now. Too late for regrets. She would never let go of her claim on him.

Whatever it was he saw in her, it made him smile. Just a subtle crinkling of the corners of his eyes, his mouth staying still.

But, oh, how the joy in them made those beautiful fire opals burn a thousand times brighter.

Now that she’d seen a small glimpse of Kai’s happiness, she wanted to see it all the time. She was enchanted, bewitched, and utterly addicted to this man.

She had to have him, right fuckingnow.
