He tickled her, her laughter ringing out around the room. “I mean, I thought you were on birth control.”
“I am. Or I was. Accidents happen.”
He shook his head and kissed her, staring down at the woman who’d given him everything. A fresh start, a life worth living, a future. Hope. Love. And now, a family of his own. “Not an accident. A happy surprise.”
She smiled at him, her eyes shining with emotion. “A happy surprise. I feel like that sums everything up. You, the proposal, the baby. It’s all been one happy surprise with you.”
He swallowed back his tears and kissed his future wife. The mother of his child.
