Page 33 of The Man Next Door

I turn on my curler to heat up, while frizz ease runs through my hair while I blow dry. My hair always takes the longest, but I didn’t want to just blow dry and go like this. It’s a special occasion so I should do something extra special, right? Curls seem appropriate enough.

I lightly press a finger to the curler to see if it’s hot enough, and get started. My hand starts cramping after about thirty minutes, but it takes another twenty to finish up. The bouncy curls are going to look fantastic with that new dress. He won’t know what hit him and hopefully fuck me against the wall tonight.

“Twenty minutes left.”

Yes, I will actually be ready in time. I line my eyes, put on some light brown shadow to accent my eyes, and then apply some mascara with five minutes to spare. My dress slips on, and heels are on my feet when he knocks on my door. I fist bump the air in excitement for getting ready in time. “Coming.” Walking to the door, I remember the tag and rip it off before opening the door. “Told you I would need two hours. But look what you get for patiently waiting.”

His eyes bounce around my body, drinking me in. I swing my head back, letting my curls bounce.

“Well worth the wait. But you must let me take that dress off later. If it looks fantastic on you, bet it will look even better on my floor.”

Shudders run down my body, hearing him talk dirty to me. I haven’t even made it out of the door before he is talking about fucking me. We better go before we don’t ever leave. “So, where are you taking me?” I close and lock my door as his hand lands on the small of my back while we walk down the stairs.

“You’ll see. But no doubt you will be the most beautiful woman there.”

On the ride over, his hand massages my upper thigh while he keeps his eyes on the road. So many things are taking over my mind, and all of them are sexual.

Things feel so natural with Hudson, and I hope it stays that way. Maybe rom-com movies get it right, the portrayal of finding someone who is like your best friend and partner. They just get you, and it’s comfortable from the beginning of the relationship. It has been a smooth transition, and a part of me wants to worry that it has been too smooth, but the other half thinks Hudson is just the right guy for me. Maybe we are what each other needs.

“Alright, we are here. Au revoir. Have you ever been?” he asks, turning off the car and taking off his seatbelt.

“Can’t say I have.”

“Well, let’s go enjoy our first “first” together. Should be interesting.” He comes around and opens my door for me.

“Why thank you.”

This side of Hudson is one I can fall in love with, and see myself having a future with, because he is not so uptight. He isn’t afraid to get out and enjoy himself. I want someone who wants to get out and experience new things and travel the world.

As he approaches the host and gives his name, she ushers us to a table near the back with candles lit. It’s romantic and thoughtful.

“Did you do this?” I ask, looking around noticing the other tables aren’t set up this way.

“Yes, just for you. I want our first date to be memorable. Something we can laugh and reminisce about later on.”

If this man doesn’t stop being so damn sweet, I’m going to rip his clothes off right now in this restaurant, not caring who watches.

The rest of dinner goes perfectly, nice conversation, no awkwardness, and lots of sexy glances from both of us towards the end signaling we are both ready to get back to the apartment.

Is Hudson going to stay this way? Going from not wanting a relationship to dating me in such a short time, it has to be an adjustment, and I’m worried it is going to be too much for him. Right now, I’m on a high, but will he hit a low?
