“Screw you, Stubby.” In the blink of an eye, Camdyn’s hopped onto the wooden table and screams his love for me. The declaration echoes across the lake while my cheeks burn.

“Once more from the top, bro.” River laughs.

“Gimme a sec.” Camdyn slides out his iPhone and makes a show of navigating onto social media. While pointing the camera at himself, he goes live, exhibiting the same energy. “Saying I love Willow ain’t enough. My girl not only has the biggest ass I’ve ever seen—”

“Oh god.” I crouch down in my seat as he shoves the camera in my direction.

“She’s got the biggest heart too. Look at that face—the light of my fucking life. She’s strong—not as strong as me—”

“Cocky bastard.” River cuts in.

“Her mouth scrunches when challenged, but her hand fits perfectly in mine. Oh, my Lo’s funny as fuck—just don’t ask her to tell a joke. She’s naturally funny.”

“All my jokes are funny,” I retort, then resume holding my hands over my face.

“Debatable.” He gives a charismatic wink, returning to the limelight. “I fell in love with the light behind Willow’s eyes. The sweet taste of her lips. The encouraging things she says. Heh, the petty shit she says too. I’ll fight with her and for her. I’ll kill for her.”

“Cam,” I whisper.

His voice lowers, reflective. “I’ll be back later with more.”

“There you have it, Little Bit,” River tells Tatum while Camdyn signs off.

Awe. Little Bit. With my rib aching, I allow my facial expression to speak volumes.

“How did you first say it?” Tatum’s arms fold, pulling the spotlight away from their touchy relationship.

Chuckling, I place an orange soda to my lips. “I was breaking up with him. Failed, though.”

“That’s the best time to tell a girl you love her,” River says.

Tatum flies up from the table then catches herself. Grudge withheld. “I’m uh...”

“Getting more drinks.” I piggyback off her sentiment. “Nonalcoholic, ahem, drinks.”
