"If it was that bad, I would have called 9-1-1." Katie's jaw chattered violently as she spoke.

"Christ, Katie." Isaac took her into his arms, careful to keep her out of the water. "I'll be taking care of you next if you stay in here any longer."

"You don't get sick from being cold." She shivered against his chest.

"Maybe not but I would rather not take that chance."

He was about to let her go when still nestled firmly in his arms, she tilted her head and looked into his eyes. Hers were dark and focused.

"I would," she said with all the breath in her lungs before freeing her arms, wrapping them around his neck, and pulling him closer until their lips crashed together.

Fucking hell, he wanted her. Ached for her as her pebbled nipples pressed against his chest. But he still wasn't sure on his feet and the last thing he wanted was to stumble through their first time together in an ice-cold shower that didn't do his manhood any favors.

"Katie," he said breaking the kiss.

"What's wrong?" she asked panicked. "Are you having trouble breathing?"

"No," Isaac said. "Thanks to your expert care, I think the fever is all that's left of this thing."

Her face relaxed into a smile before she tipped up on her toes kissing him again.

???

Katie's skin tingled with goosebumps raised by the icy water while her insides burned with Isaac's kiss. She shouldn't have given in. For many reasons. But all of them were overshadowed by his massive erection pressed against her.

"Katie," he said again. She could have listened to him say her name over and over. If she had it her way, he would have. All night long.

"You might not get sick from the cold but you can get hypothermia."

"I'm f-fine," she said, though she knew she wasn't. She could barely feel her fingers after being under the frigid water for so long.

"You're freezing." He turned with her until she was forced to step out of the shower.

Katie wrapped her arms around herself. A poor replacement for the warmth of his body against her. "What about you?"

Isaac stepped out of the shower. After grabbing one of the guest towels off the shelf, he unfolded it and wrapped it around her shoulders. Then he took one for himself and secured it around his waist. Covering up his sopping wet briefs clinging so perfectly to his impressive length there had been little reason for him to wear them at all.

"My temperature has dropped but I think I should stay a little longer. Just in case."

Reminding her of why she'd led him here in the first place brought her attention back to caring about his wellbeing. Back to where it should have been the whole time.

"Alone? Are you sure?"

"I think the worst of it is over. I can take it from here."

Had his body lied to her? It hadfeltlike he'd wanted her. He'd kissed her as though he'd been desperate for her.

Stop it.

She never should have lost control and kissed him like that. Thank God he'd regained his senses enough to stop her before they'd gone any further.

"Thank you," Isaac said as she stepped into the hallway.

"You're welcome." It was the appropriate response but it didn't feel like enough. She wanted to say more. But what else could she have said? "Call if you need me."

She stepped around the door.

"Katie?"
