"Yeah?" She stepped back again.

"I really don't know what I would have done if you hadn't been here." The pain she'd seen in his eyes when he'd asked her if she wanted to leave filled his voice. "I'm glad you stayed."

Katie filled her lungs as full as she could. Letting the air go again, she said, "I'm glad I stayed, too."

???

The hunger had left her eyes after he guided her out of the shower. And it broke his fucking heart. He hated to turn her away when she so obviously wanted to stay. Finally, and completely of her own choosing.

When he called her back that last time, he'd wanted to tell her, someday. Someday, they'd finish what they had started. Someday, he wouldn't be sick and she wouldn't have a deadline. Someday, they'd know each other.

That is… If she wanted him. Someday.

Isaac stripped his briefs and stepped into the shower. The heat still pulsed under his skin. Though, not as intense as it had been before Katie lured him there.

The fever would break soon. He could feel it. He'd wake up tomorrow good as new and Katie would go back to her dorm, finish her project, and finals.

And then what?

Her plan didn't end there. Did he really think she'd find time for him someday just because she'd gotten a little horny and lost in the moment? That if he just waited a little longer she'd see he wouldn't get in her way. Those were just foolish dreams. Fueled by fever and too much cough syrup.

It took more time than he expected before his fever broke. Before he finally felt the ice-cold water on his skin.

He turned the shower off, stepped out and dried himself while trying not to think about Katie. But as soon as he felt the strength, though slow and incomplete, return to his muscles and joints, the image of her nearly nude stole that strength and put it all between his legs.

Damn it.

"Are you serious, right now?" he barked at his crotch.

Isaac took a deep breath.

He only had to make it through breakfast. Then she'd be gone, along with the temptation.

But it would be so much easier to get through breakfast if he didn't have these thoughts at the forefront of his mind.

Isaac sat on the cedar bench beside the shower stall watching his dick bounce imagining how it would feel squeezed between Katie's round little ass cheeks.

A moan slipped past his lips as he wrapped his hand around his shaft and pretended it was her.

Her hand.

Her mouth.

Her hot, wet pussy as pre-cum coated his palm. He could feel her knees on either side of him—straddling him as her hands pressed against his chest. Steadying her as she bobbed up and down. Up and down.

Arching over him, her loose, golden curls fell around her face. Hiding the truth—her desire—as she swelled and pulsed around him.

In his mind, Isaac reached up pushing back the curtain of hair. And when he locked in on the intense, focused drive—the determination in her bright, blue eyes, he came. So hard and so fast he almost fell off the bench trying to drive deeper into the body that wasn't there.

Isaac tried to relax, with his arms limp at his sides, but a hot, angry scream—a roar— expanded his chest. If he thought he could let it out without bringing Katie running to find him sprawled out, naked, with the evidence of his relief splattered across his stomach and chest, he would have.

He'd hoped the release would help him let her go. If anything, he wanted her to stay even more now.

Isaac stood. He cranked the water on in the shower, stepped in and scrubbed himself clean. And though he knew it would never come to pass, he wished breakfast not to be the last time he saw her. He wished for someday.

Chapter 21

"Isaac?" Katie shot out of her chair like a bullet.
