Isaac couldn't move. She'd frozen him with her words.

Since the moment they'd met, this was all he'd wanted. He'd wanted her to stay. To choose to be with him. But what was this choice? Did it mean seeing more of each other in the future or would it just delay the inevitable? Only giving him a couple more days before he never saw her again?

"What about your project? Your plan?"

"I'm way ahead. Even before I found you half-dead on the couch I'd gotten a good chunk of it done. And I barely slept worrying about you. I'm almost done."

She’d been worried about me?

He rolled his shoulders back.

She cared.

And he believed it. If he didn't take this chance, he’d likely never have another.

"We've earned this, Isaac." A desperate plea lit her eyes.

Fuck, she made it hard to say no.

"But what would we do?"

"You're a frat boy. I'm sure you'll figure something out."

"I don't know…" Isaac wanted to give in but knew he shouldn’t. Not after he’d just spent all night convincing himself he could fight off the temptation to pursue her. Not after he'd promised himself he'd get through breakfast and let her go. She'd turned him down for that coffee date for good reason. That reason hadn't changed overnight.

"Have you already forgotten how convincing I can be?" Katie narrowed her gaze as she stalked toward him.

How could he forget? He'd hold onto the image of her sauntering down the hallway—stripping, luring him in—forever.

"Is this really the best use of your time?" he asked struggling to keep his hands clamped to the counter as she slid her hands under his shirt and over his stomach. Her fingertips tripped over the grooves between each muscle.

"My time. My choice."

Isaac's fingertips escaped the counter and played in the waves of silk draped over her shoulder. So much like his fantasy. As he pushed them back, exposing the bare skin of her shoulder, his dick sprung up inside his sweats. "Your choice," he said trailing his hand down her arm.

And her idea. So, why shouldn't he go along with it? It wouldn't be his fault if she failed to finish her work. Not if it had been her idea to avoid it in the first place.

She flattened her hands against his stomach curling her fingers around his waist. "Is that a yes?"

"Katie…"

Isaac caught his breath as she pushed her hips into his.

"Isthata yes?" She ground against him. Her eyes darkening with desire.

Fuck, yes.

His breath quickened and his heart pounded pumping blood to his raging hard cock. So much his head swam and his knees buckled.

"Are you all right?" Katie’s lips were less than an inch from his.

"Sorry. Guess I'm not fully recovered yet."

Dipshit.

He knew he should have gone back to sleep after that last shower. But he'd slept so much over the last several days, he'd only laid there staring at the ceiling for hours before giving up and making breakfast.

"Understandable, considering you just came back from the dead." She took his hand. "Come on." Then she led him to the living room. "It's been ages since I binge-watched anything."
