"Witchcraft." Isaac chuckled again and sat up.

Katie fought the urge not to pull him back.

"Okay, your turn," Isaac said.

"What?"

"Show me what you've been working on." He jutted his chin at her laptop sitting on the footstool.

"It's really boring. Especially if you don't know how to read code."

"Who says I don't?"

"Do you?"

"Well, no but I could have."

Katie picked up the computer and set it on her lap cattywampus so he could see. It was terribly uncomfortable and she could barely see the screen. She shifted to sit fully at his side but that didn't work either, squished between the chair's arm and his.

Isaac put his arm around her shoulder. "Stand up a second." He pressed his hand against her back helping her up then centered himself on the chair.

"How's that—" Katie didn't get a chance to finish her question before he gripped her hips and pulled her down on his lap. Planting her butt firmly on his right thigh. "Oh. That works."Almost too well, she thought settling back against him wishing they could be closer still. Like, without the barrier of clothes between them.

"That looks complicated." The low rumble of his voice resonated in his chest against her shoulder blades.

How was she supposed to concentrate like this? The heat exchanged between them went up by the second as she took inventory of every one of his muscles against her back. Every breath and beat of his heart.

Katie took a breath of her own trying desperately to focus on her computer and not her proximity to his cock—or finding out if he was as turned on as she was. If she shifted about an inch to her left centering herself over the gap between his thighs, she could have found out.

"So, what does it do?" Isaac asked bringing her back to reality.

"Nothing yet. Well, not a lot." She clicked the compile button and the window above the one where her code was written came alive with the home screen for her game.

"Holy shit! Did you do all of this? The artwork and everything?"

"I've been working on it all year preparing for this. We were only supposed to have a working skeleton done, then less than two weeks before spring break, Poopface tells us he wants three completed levels for thirty percent of our grade."

"Fuck."

"Yeah."

"How much have you done?"

"I started the third level today."

"That's incredible."

His enthusiasm meant nothing in the way of her grade but it helped in making her stress and effort worth it just the same. "Want to play it?"

"Fuck, yes." He rested his chin on her shoulder and reached his arms around her waist to grip the controller.

"You can set the difficulty in the settings menu. I'd start on the lowest if I were you."

Isaac clicked into the settings menu and toggled the difficulty to the hardest setting. Katie slapped her palm against her forehead.

"Everything I do," he squeezed her ribs between his forearms. "I do hard."

Katie laughed until he clicked play and she couldn't breathe anymore. What if he didn't like it? Or thought it was stupid. What if he found a bunch of bugs she didn't have time to fix?
