Chapter Eleven

“Steve, that was amazing.” Out of breath, Lillian smiled. She wanted to laugh, sing, and scream in euphoria. After twenty years, she’d found the man of her dreams. “It was incredible. For me.”

“For me too. Incredible and fabulous.” He covered her face with kisses and raised himself, trying to move to the side.

She threw her arms around him. “No, don’t move. Let me enjoy your body against mine. Every inch, every solid part.” Her eyes shone with longing. “It’s been so long for me. I like feeling you. The hardness of your chest, the stiffness of your abs, the muscles in your thighs, and mostly…” Her buttocks gyrated, and she squirmed against his belly. “And mostly that hardness here.” She giggled.

Shutting his eyes, he concentrated on her words, pressing every part of his body against hers, absorbing her essence with every pore of his flesh. “My lovely Lillian.”

Who would’ve guessed that the competent and serious Nurse Haynes could hide such a fabulous woman inside her?

“Lillian, I don’t want to lose you.” She was the best thing that had happened to him since Heather had died.

“You won’t lose me. We just found each other.” She bit on his ear playfully.

“I’m thinking about St. John. Promise you’ll come with me.”

“Ah…” She pressed her cheek against his. “You’re the one leaving, Steve.” Sadness underlined her words.

“I want you with me. Promise you’ll come.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“Lillian, sweetheart, I don’t think I can live without you from now on.”

If he were a younger man, he would have spent the night making love to her. Envisioning a long day tomorrow, he rolled onto his side and gathered her against him. She threw a leg over his thigh and snuggled closer to his chest. With a besotted grin, he slipped into blessed oblivion.

Steve emerged from a deep, dreamless slumber. The most heart-lifting erotic fantasy lay cuddled in his arms. He glanced at the digital clock on the nightstand. He should get ready to leave for the airport to catch his flight, but first he wanted a few minutes more for another taste of heaven.

His left hand closed over her breast, and his mouth molded to hers, nibbling her lips.

“Huh…” His sleeping fairy whimpered and stirred against him.

His right hand skimmed her leg and slithered up into her warm core.

“Ah … oh.” She wriggled, and her eyelids opened wide. Taking advantage of her shifting, his fingers slid inside her, waking her up with an exciting caress.

His mouth moved to her ear, placing wet kisses in its wake. “I’ll be leaving shortly. Just saying goodbye.”

“Oh I’ll miss you,” she whispered.

So would he. He moved over her and thrust into her warm moisture, wishing he could spend hours holding her and loving her. A scorching kiss sealed their mouths as he pumped into her with frenzy.

“I love you, babe.”

She screamed his name, and they reached new heights in a fiery climax.

Hating his trip and their coming separation just when he’d discovered her passion, he pulled himself away and scrambled out of bed. “I have to get ready.”

“Steve, wait.” Lillian called after him as he stood. “I’ll make coffee and get you breakfast,” she offered, always the perfect hostess, even when visiting his bed.

“No, too early for you. Stay in bed, sweetheart.” He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss. “I’ll text when I land in St. John.”

“Have a safe trip. And good luck with everything.”

He rushed through his shower, dried himself, and got dressed. His taxi should be here in fifteen minutes.

The clothes he’d left on his boat spared him the trouble of packing for this trip. He grabbed a jacket to go with his pants and buttoned down shirt. Traveling first-class had become the norm, allowing him to save time and enjoy breakfast while flying.
