“All right. I’ll make a U-turn. We’re not too far from Indian Hills.”

“Cool. Did you grow up in a mansion?”

“I did, yet I still turned out to be a bad apple.”

“Not anymore. You’re a successful engineer with your own business. Your father’s proud of you, and your mom must be blessing you from up there. In contrast, I disappointed my father, and my mother has almost given up on me. I’m a mess, Royce. Almost thirty, with two fiancés I hated. One dumped me and the other is about to.”

“I pray he will soon.” Royce chuckled and sobered right away. “Don’t put yourself down. While working on your PhD in Education, you rehabilitated a number of teenagers, including my step-niece, by creating a Youth Club at UC. By the way, you should start that club again. It would boost your career tremendously.”

“You think so? I’ll talk to Dean Tristan.”

“What an impressive house.”

His blood racing with impatience, he followed the curved driveway, and parked her SUV in front of the house. Tonight would be a turning point in their relationship and their lives.
