A quiver began in her core at that moment, and after a short drive home and a quick change of clothes, it never left her. She leaned over the sink to inspect her appearance. She always wore a nude lipstick, but she picked up a tube of bright red and screwed it upward.

By the time she walked into the Rise and Grind and the fresh aroma of coffee and pastries hitting her, she was a jittery mess.
