I’m exhausted too but still can’t sleep. Gazing toward the dark ceiling, I wonder about the incredulity of sharing a mate with Damon.
Raiden and Caleb need to come home so that we can share the news with them. I know they’ve started liking her too, especially Caleb.
It’d be incredible if they bond with her too.

My heavy eyelids blink open, revealing a strange ceiling over my head. I jerk to full awareness, my heart pounding in my throat as the memory of a cruel face with dark, hollow eyes rises in my mind.
My wild gaze falls on the man who is lying next to me.
I almost scream but there’s something familiar about the dark red locks spreading over the pillow. Gently moving the blanket away, I stare at Damon.
It’s only now I’m recognizing my surroundings.
I’m in Julian’s bedroom.
It’s Damon who’s sleeping next to me.
Pure relief floods through me as I allow myself to breathe deeply and calmly.
