A moan escapes me as my forehead throbs. “Julian?” I call out in a weak voice.

He doesn’t answer back.

I know I’m safe in this room but a deeply unsettling feeling takes over my senses. I need to see him.

Climbing off the bed, I look around the darkened room and find my clothes at the foot of the bed. They’re all folded neatly. Even my bra and panties are folded on top of the stack.

A sliver of relief rushes through me.

Only Julian would’ve bothered to leave my clothes like that. Simply knowing I’d been with him clears away some of the irrational fear pumping through me.

My muscles protest as I move around.

Julian had been amazingly gentle, so why was my body aching all over?

The memory of the dream comes back to me. I must’ve been clenching my muscles from fear. My body was reliving the awful memory, almost rendering me incapable of breathing.

Maybe a shower will help, I decide.

Switching on the lamp on my side of the bed, I look around, spotting the door to the bathroom along the opposite wall.

I move toward it and open the door.

The lights come on the moment I step in, bathing the room in bright lights. Shielding my eyes, I move toward the glass-walled shower stall.

Heading in, I turn on the knob.

Water from four different showerheads cascades over me, drenching my skin. A groan escapes me as the hot water relaxes my sore muscles. The steam seems to help unblock my nostrils, allowing me to breathe better.

Gradually, I feel the headache subsiding. Feeling better, I grab the body shampoo.

It’s the same luxury brand that Julian bought for me. A smile comes to my lips as I realize it’s the same fragrance I’ve been using lately. Even without knowing I’m his mate, he wanted me to smell like him.

Deep down, we’d recognized each other the moment we met.

Julian told me Damon recognized me as his mate too. It’s incredible to find your fated mate. It’s even more extraordinary to know you have more than one.

Warmth rushes through me as I think of Damon. He never hit me back despite the numerous times I’ve kicked him. People say he has a darkness shadowing his heart, but he’s never allowed it to hurt me.

He even stood up to Callahan, protected me against him, and then drove me home last night. He’s always kept me safe.

Heat rushes to my cheeks as I remember waking up next to him and Julian this morning. No nightmares plagued me when I slept beside them.

Caleb and Raiden don’t know about this incredible discovery yet.

Raiden has been sweet to me since the moment he met me while Caleb is slowly starting to warm up to me. I can only hope they’ll be able to accept my relationship with Julian and Damon.

Switching off the shower, I walk out and grab one of the towels.

I dry myself off and walk out of the bathroom. Away from the hot water, I feel my body cooling down rapidly.

Shivers run through me by the time I’m pulling on my jeans and sweater. The headache comes back with full force, pounding against my forehead. I feel lightheaded, so I decide to go into the kitchen to grab a mug of hot coffee.

On my way, I hear familiar voices coming from the living room area.

Nearing the doorway, I peek in.

Caleb, Damon, Raiden, and Julian are seated around the plush coffee table. Their faces are drawn, their voices low and grim.
