“Iris and I will be fine on our own,” Julian says with a huff.

Caleb shakes his head. “The Black Widow terrorists have come out of hiding. They’ve already targeted government officials. Every military base is susceptible to their attacks. I don’t want to take any unnecessary risks when it comes to you both.”

Damon steps back. “Fine. I’ll let you guys handle Dad.”

“Thanks,” says Caleb. Moving closer to me, he caresses my cheek with the back of his hand. “I’m sorry for all the times I made your life difficult. You’re not a prisoner here anymore. This is your home too and I want you to feel safe here.”

“Thanks,” I choke while my mind scatters at his innocent touch. It’s a battle to keep myself from moaning and leaning into his touch. “Oh, and before I forget, I got something made for you.”

Reaching inside his pocket, he brings out a sleek, narrow box. He opens it and reveals a golden bracelet inside. “This is for you,” he says.

I lift the bracelet and marvel at the intricate designs etched on its surface. When I tilt it, I see my name engraved on the underside along with everyone else’s.

“This is beautiful,” I say with a choke in my throat.

Caleb takes the bracelet from my hand, unclasps it, and secures it around my right wrist. “You make it beautiful.”

My cheeks warm with pleasure. His adoring gaze is enough to melt me into a puddle.

“Let’s catch up when we get back,” Raiden says, leaning down to press a kiss to my cheek.

My skin burns at the spot his lips touched. My breathing goes heavy and my pulse quickens.

I want more of their touch.

My body recognizes them and wants them close to me.

Something deep inside me reacts as I watch them walking out of the kitchen.

“I don’t want them to go,” I say in a strangely whiny voice.

A chuckle erupts from close by. “She’s starting to sound like you, Jules.”

Julian smiles. “You’re starting to respond to them. It won’t be long before you recognize them too.”

“I’m an omega,” I say.

“Sounds like you’re still not convinced,” says Damon with an amused expression.

“I’m not,” I say, shaking my head. “It all feels too good to be true.”

Julian lets out a sigh and then smiles. “We’ve not even started showing you what it means to be our mate.”

Damon leans in, his eyes on the same level as mine. “Are you ready, Wildcat?”

“You must be hungry,” Julian says but my focus remains on the amber-eyed man kneeling before me.

I can barely hear him over the thrums of my racing heart. He’s still leaning in, his lips hovering close to mine. His warm breath fans my face, making my lashes flutter.

I give in to his teasing. Closing the distance between us, I press my lips to his.

Damon’s mouth morphs into a grin against my lips as he opens up to me. His hand cups the back of my neck, holding me in place as he deepens the kiss.

His breathing goes harsh as he pulls away, staring at me with an intensity that makes my insides throb. Leaning in, he captures my bottom lips between his teeth and gently sucks on the plump flesh.
