“Your choice doesn’t matter,” he says in a cold tone. “Willing or not, youwillbelong to me.”
“But, why me?” I ask. “There’s nothing special about me.”
Callahan halts in his steps.
That’s when I realize he’s led me to the very top of the staircase. A door stands before us.
“You’ve been fooled your entire life,” he says in a grim tone. “You’re not who you think you are. But don’t worry, darling.” He wipes at my tears with the back of his hand. “I’ll reveal everything to you.”
Reaching out, he grabs the knob and turns it, opening the door.
A blast of cold air hits me in the face.
We’re on the roof of the vast mansion. A helicopter is stationed in the far corner, its blades stationary.
He drags me alongside him, taking me closer to the chopper.
“Where are you taking me?” I ask, failing to keep the fear off my voice. “Who the hell are you? Why’re you doing this to me?”
“You belong to me,” he says. “You always have.”
He compels me to climb into the back of the cockpit while the pilot in the front fiddles with knobs and buttons.
My heart leaps to my throat as the helicopter comes to life with a deafening roar.
“Stay still,” Callahan orders.
My body slumps at his command. I bite into my knuckles to throw off his compulsion, but even when I bleed, my muscles refuse to coordinate. Callahan takes advantage of my weakness and steadily secures me to the safety belts.
Within minutes, he’s seated next to me.
“Go,” he orders.
I scream as the helicopter takes flight. Gusts of wind pull at my hair as tears stream down my face. I pray for Damon to see this chopper so he can shoot it down.
I’d rather die than face the consequences of being chained to the alpha beside me.
To my dismay, nothing happens. The chopper flies into the night sky and within seconds, leaves the Solveig estate behind.
I scream while the man beside me wears a victorious smile.
This can’t be the way my story ends. I can’t lose my mates just when I’ve found them. Am I doomed forever or can I still hope to see them again?
