“No,” I say at once.

“Caleb!”

I shake my head. “Raiden and Damon will be heading to Palm Banks this afternoon,” I tell him. “She’s still a flight risk, so I can’t send her with you.”

“You always send security with me.”

“They’re for you. I can’t have them be distracted by keeping an eye on her.”

Julian gives me the stink eye.

“It’s okay,” says Iris. “I’ll wait for you to come back.”

Julian doesn’t look happy. “If you’re not able to come to the store, I’ll bring the store to you.”

“What do you mean?” Iris asks, looking alarmed.

Julian suddenly flashes her a grin.

“Nope. No way,” she says, starting to chuckle. “You’re not bringing a hundred dresses for me to try.”

“But I will.”

She shakes her head. “This has to be against the pack laws or something,” she says. “You can’t torture me this way.”

Julian grabs her waist and pulls her against him.

Her eyes go wide and she goes quiet.

Julian lightly runs a finger along her chin, turning her cheeks a deep pink.

I can see the way she’s struggling not to react to him but is badly failing. It’s hard to admit this but Iris is damn cute. Julian is teasing her and she’s falling for it.

Maybe I need to spend more time with her to see how she’s put a spell on everyone around her.

“I don’t want to leave you for a second,” Julian says.

“Then, don’t go,” she mumbles. “I don’t need stupid dresses. I don’t even want to go to some party.”

“Dad asked you to go, so you will go,” I say in a stern voice.

Iris glances at me and her expression falls. It’s starting to irk me to see her being scared of me.

Isn’t that what you wanted?A voice in my head asks.To scare her. To intimidate her.

My conflicting thoughts take me by surprise. Is Iris starting to affect me too?

“You should go,” I say, gazing at Julian. “I’ll stay here and keep an eye on her.” With that, I close all arguments before walking out of the hall.

I make my way to my home office upstairs and spend the next few hours going through some documents.

Locked in my office, I soon feel boredom setting in.

It’s a fucking Sunday evening, after all. We should all be hanging out together and not drifting away in different directions. Even my parents are having a better weekend than us.

Iris’s face drifts into my mind.

“Wonder what she’s up to...” I mutter to myself. Throwing away the documents, I get to my feet and head to Julian’s surveillance room.
