“Do you miss them?” I asked, lifting my beer to take a swig.

“I don’t know. We never had that kind of relationship, so it’s hard to miss something you never had.” I watched how her throat worked as she sipped the mojito, a stirring beginning in my belly.

“My brother and I are super close. He came too when I moved to LA, and we drove our careers together. We both wanted to succeed at our dreams, helping each other get there.”

She smiled again. “That sounds nice. My family keeps asking me when I’m going to get a real job.”

I lifted an eyebrow. “This isn’t a real job?”

She smiled and shook her head. “No, this is temporary. I’m a singer-songwriter. I live in Nashville, and my manager told me he got me a residency. I didn’t realize it would be at a kids' camp for a resort. He conveniently left that out.”

“Hang on. That was you?” I asked as I took a swig of my beer, recalling the girl who performed the kids' songs earlier. Sure, the performance was campy, but it was part of the production. The vocals, however, that was a whole different story. She had an incredible voice, able to adapt it to whatever song she was singing.

“Yeah.” She blushed, and the rouge on her cheeks only enhanced her beauty, making me swallow hard.

I took another sip of my beer, trying to rein in the heat suddenly rushing through me, converging in my cock as it strained against the zipper of my shorts. What she would look like with her entire body flushed and sweaty under mine flashed through my mind.

“Twice a day, every day, and sometimes I do character appearances. Not my favorite thing in the world, but I guess it’s a job. And, at the very least, I get to spend my free time in the mountains, which have surprisingly great acoustics.”

“I’d love to hear it sometime.” I smiled as silence fell between us. But it wasn’t uncomfortable. She kept smiling shyly at me before returning to her drink. What was she thinking? Did she like me?

“Do you …” I licked my lips, unable to believe I was about to do this. “Do you wanna skip dinner and come back to my cabin?”

“Yeah,” she grinned, biting her bottom lip to hide her smile, “I’d love that.”

Chapter4

Bexley

Was this really happening? He held my hand tightly in his as we walked back to his cabin in the soft moonlight streaming across the paved path. I was going to … well, who knows what would happen tonight, but either way, it would be with Sebastian Lowe!

“I don’t normally do this,” he finally spoke, looking at me.

I nodded my head in agreement. “Me neither.”

“I don’t want you to think that I …”

“I don’t, I promise.” I squeezed his hand and offered him a smile.

His grin lit his face as he paused in front of the cabin, helping me up the first step as he let go of my hand in favor of setting it on the small of my back. His touch sent a shiver through me that returned to the pit of my stomach and settled there, backflipping like an acrobat in Cirque Du Soleil.

“Bexley.” I turned on the second step, finding myself equal in height to him at this point. “I don’t normally do this, but the moment I saw you, something inside me switched on. It’s been a long time since the sight of a woman sent my heart into a spiral, but you looked up and smiled at me, and I swear I …” He smoothed a hand over the top of his head, tugging on his man bun before he shrugged. “It sounds crazy, I know—love at first sight,” he scoffed, “but—”

I cut him off with my lips as I leaned forward, tilting onto my toes as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He was caught off-guard but reacted quickly as he kissed me back, gripping my waist tightly as he lifted me off the step. I hung in the air for only a moment before wrapping my arms around his waist, and he carried me up the last two steps onto the porch.

The porch was a half wrap-around, making him weave around the building to get us to the door. He pressed me against the log wall as we reached it, pinning me between it and his body.

His tongue slipped passed my lips, smoothing along mine as he acquainted himself with my taste while leaving his lingering in his wake. My fingers slipped up the back of his head as I undid the tie holding his hair back, freeing the soft blond curls to my grip.

He groaned as I raked my fingers through his locks, scraping his scalp, and dropped his mouth to my neck, kissing and sucking the bits of flesh he found there.

My mind wondered why I was doing this as my body rocked against his, aching for more. Was it because I wanted to say I slept with Sebastian Lowe or was it something more?

Getting involved this intimately, this quickly, with a man who I’d admired for years felt deceitful. I should tell him I knew who he was, how I knew about his career and his family. He said he was staying with his parents, but I also knew his children were likely sleeping behind that door. After all, he met me at the kids’ club.

“Bastian …” I whispered his name softly, a pool of regret settling in my stomach the moment I stopped the motion of his mouth. His eyes lifted to meet mine, and the heat of his desire radiated through me. A man hadneverlooked at me like he was right now.

And I never wanted him to stop.
