“This way.” Noah leads us through the ostentatious house and down a long corridor. It’s dark with lowlights and no windows. The further we go away from the main part of the mansion, the more I see a hint of the guys’ taste take over. Things go from ritzy and flashy to minimal and modern. The hall ends with three rooms, two on either side and one at the end. I take a guess that the middle room at the end belongs to Teo and push through the door.

It’s cold and impersonal, sort of like the facade he wears and I know without anyone telling me that it’s his space. Everything is clean and organized, not a thing out of place.

“The room looks untouched. How are we going to figure anything out from this?” I ask, moving toward the other doors in the room that I imagine lead to a bathroom and closet.

“There’s got to be something here. Check his computer Cohen, we’ll look for any other hints as to what’s going on.” Ren says, going into boss mode. Any other time, it would be hot, but dread lines my stomach and I’m barely holding my panic at bay.

We all work silently as I start rifling through his bathroom and the boys take on the bedroom. Ren goes into the closet and Noah takes on the biggest room, while Cohen gets to work hacking the computer. I come up empty handed, finding nothing more than a few hairstyling products, some cologne, hand soap, and his toothbrush and toothpaste. His shower holds a loofah, some body wash, along with two small bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Other than some towels that need to be refolded thanks to my search, there’s genuinely nothing in there.

“Anyone have any luck? I’ve got a really bad feeling. I had it this morning, but I thought it was nerves. Now, I’m starting to wonder if the cosmos are playing a big joke on us.”

“Nope, there’s nothing here. This isn’t like Matteo. He may not be super chatty, but he doesn’t disappear off the face of the earth,” Noah remarks.

“His closet’s clean. He doesn’t keep a whole lot of stuff. Made it easy to search everything, but it also left no leads,” Ren tells me angrily. He’s clearly losing control of his frustration which means he’s struggling to keep his demons inside.

“There’s nothing on his computer. At least nothing I’ve not seen yet. I wonder though…” Cohen clicks rapidly on the keyboard in front of him. “Q, the GPS chip in your necklace, is there one in our watches as well?”

“No, I wouldn’t just chip you guys without your knowledge or permission. I only did it as a precaution after I found out who I was. I honestly never expected to have to use it.”

“That’s fine. It’s a smart watch, which means it’ll have a basic GPS system at minimum so he can track his steps if he wants. I can reconfigure the software you had built into it to track you, and make it so I can track him,” Cohen mutters, becoming more and more focused with each keystroke. Determination fills his gaze and he makes a promise to me, to himself, to the world… “I. Will. Find. Him.”

I drop down to my knees next to him and turn him around in the computer chair, “I know babe, I know.” I take each of his hands in mine and place kisses in his palms. “And when you do, we’ll go get him and kill anyone that gets in our way,” I promise him right back.

When Noah and Ren step up on either side of me, it’s like they’re making a vow of their own to stand by us and do whatever it takes to bring the missing piece of our family home.

My phone buzzes in my back pocket and I can’t pull it out fast enough, hoping it’s Matteo. My heart damn near drops to my stomach when I see his name flash across the screen.

“Matteo? Where are you babe? We’ve been worried.” I breathe into the phone.

“As you should be, little Salvatore. He’s in danger.” A wicked voice travels through my speaker.

“Who—Lorenzo?”

“Smart girl.”

“You’d hurt your son?”

“Maybe you’re not smart at all. I won’t just hurt him. I’ll kill him.” he threatens coldly.

“You’re a disgusting human being. You’re—”

“Yes, yes. I’ve heard it all before and I’ve heard enough now. I’ll send you instructions later and you’ll follow them exactly or he will die.”

The line cuts off and fury lights up within me.

Game. Fucking. On.

“I’m going to kill him. I’m going to cut him up into tiny pieces after I drain all the blood from his body slowly. I’m going to tie him up and stab him over and over again with a hot poker. I’m going to slice his throat from ear to fucking ear. ”

“Holy shit… can I watch?” Noah asks, a manic sort of glee taking over his face at the threat of violence.

“Cohen, I need to know where he is before Lorenzo sends those instructions. We need to beat him at his own game. We can’t let him hurt Matteo.”

“I’m on it, we’ll have the information within the hour, love. Go get whatever you guys need from your house. I’ll meet you there.”
