Her favorite flower didn’t surprise him. It was the disguised letters hiding in the center that befuddled him. The ones that you had to zone in on to notice. There was only one logical reason she had his initials tattooed on her. He meant something to her. Tabitha only had one other tattoo, and it had meaning. There was no other thing or person he could think of that would cause her to have those letters permanently on her body.

He waited for her to come out of the shower, then went next. He took longer than he normally would, trying to wrap his mind around what he’d seen. He wasted that time, so she would think he’d forgotten. As if it could simply slip his mind.

He would never forget.

When the one that got away secretly puts your initials on their gorgeous body, you don’t let them get away again. You figure out a way to make things work. There was no denying it now. Not when he knew his feelings weren’t one sided.

He waited until they were settled in bed before rolling over to face her. He couldn’t contain the smirk as it grew on his face. It was dark and she wouldn’t be able to see it, but she knew his eyes were on her.

“What?” She rolled over and faced him.

“Can I admit something to you?”

“Sure,” she answered slowly.

“I regret not making a move when we were younger.” His heart picked up pace as he spoke. “My biggest secret was that I wanted you.”

“I thought we didn’t keep secrets.”

“It should have been me.”

“What?” she squeaked.

Archie always wondered what his life would be like if he would’ve told her all those years ago. How different would things be now? Their lives were always meant to be intertwined. Nobody even compared to her. He’d give her the fucking world if she let him.

“It’s too late.” She rolled onto her back.

“What would you have done if I had done something? If I said something? If I would’ve made a move? What if I kissed you when we were teens? What if I told you how I felt?” He knew he was laying it on thick. She had to know.

“You didn’t see me like that. You had girlfriends. I was just a friend.” She sighed.

“I thought you were too good for me.” He propped up onto his elbow. “No more secrets between us.”

“No more secrets?” She rolled back over to face him. “I would’ve kissed you back. I would’ve told you that I wanted you to be my first. I would’ve told you that I loved you. That I always have. That I always will. You were my everything, and it hurt to see you with other girls.” Her chest rose and fell with every heavy breath.

“I didn’t know.” Fuck. Why didn’t either one of them say anything? “Too bad we don’t have a time machine.”

Tabitha laughed. “If only it were that easy. I remember at my birthday party one year, you felt my ass. I wanted you to make a move that night.”

“I wanted to bend you over.” He chuckled. He’d always loved the feel of her. “Any chance I could get to feel you next to me, I took it.”

“I would’ve settled for just a kiss. Time goes on. Life happens. Too late to change things.”

“No, but now I know the truth.” He smiled as she tilted her head. “You were always mine.”

Archie’s hand slid to the back of her head as he pulled them closer. He couldn’t let another second go by without her knowing she belonged to him. He wouldn’t let another moment go by without knowing what her lips felt pressed against his.

She was right. He couldn’t change their past. He regretted not making a move when they were younger, but he wouldn’t let time pass by them with more regrets. She was his and he sure as fuck would change their present.

Their bodies pressed together, and he moved his leg between hers. She moaned into his kiss as he rubbed his leg against her core. His tongue dipped out to caress hers and deepen their kiss.

He had to touch her.

Everywhere.

He had to feel her.

Everywhere.
