“Yeah.” she whispered as his lips brushed hers.

“Fucking, finally.”

He smirked before crashing his mouth back against hers. He swallowed the moan that escaped her before their tongues were moving against one another. They were so wrapped up in each other they barely heard the beep of the microwave.

She was hungry for something else entirely now.

He slowly pulled back, and she slid down her body. “You need to eat.” He turned to grab her food, then put it on the bar in the kitchen.

She smiled as she slid onto the stool. “Are you just going to keep taking care of me, Arch?”

“As long as you’ll let me.” His eyes softened as he put a fork in front of her. “Now eat. You’re going to need energy for what I have planned later.”

She looked down with a smile and bit her bottom lip. She could feel the blush covering her face and chest. They were really doing this.

CHAPTER24

ARCHIE

When the girl of your dreams looks at you like you’re her world too, you know life will never be the same. He wasn’t sure what caused the switch to flip in that pretty little head of hers, but he was grateful. They’d denied it for too long. That force that pushed them together. If he believed in destiny, he would call it fate.

That was what they were.

Their souls were meant to be together. It just took them a while to get to this point. No longer fighting feelings. No longer fighting the desire to be touched. And every fucking touched lingered as the day went on.

If nobody noticed what was going on between them, they were clearly idiots.

He was painfully hard, and it was taking more control than he thought possible not to bend her over the table and take her for everyone to see. Not that he wanted others to see her in that precious moment of ecstasy, he just wanted to claim her.

She’d catch his eyes and smile before pulling her bottom lip between her teeth. It was clear what was on her mind. The same fucking thing that was on his.

“Are you listening?” Brian waved his hand in front of his face.

“No, they’re too busy eye fucking each other.” James muttered under his breath next to him.

“This is serious. I have an idea!” Brian dropped his hand to the table.

Archie clenched his jaw and looked over at his friends.

“We need to dangle some bait.” Brian spoke. “And before you argue, I don’t actually mean to put her in harm's way. I mean, make it seem like she’s going to be somewhere. Advertise and everything. Make it seem legit. Book the flights and reserve the hotel. Put up the money.”

“Huh?” James looked at Brian like he’d grown a second head.

“She’s always working with those brands for work, so we plan one out. It needs to be something he wouldn’t be able to stay away from.” Brian smiled. “An event that people he’d want to meet would be in attendance at. Think about it, that politician family of his is still trying to climb the ladder and meet the right people. Only we meet them first.”

“I get what you're saying, but how are we going to combine the worlds of entertainment and government?” Archie sighed.

Brian and James both laughed.

“They’re so intertwined. It’s ridiculous.” James shook his head.

“I might know someone.” Brian grinned. “Remember that internship I did the year after graduation? Y’all thought it was stupid because I basically wasted a year before patching in. I was making connections of my own.”

“What?” Archie hadn’t realized what Brian was doing that year.

Brian nodded with a smile. “I’m going to go and make a phone call. So go, be with your girl tonight. Tomorrow, we start planning.”

Archie had every intention of being with his girl tonight, he just needed to get her alone. Part of him wanted to rush things. The excitement of something that had been building for years. But it had taken years to get here, time to get to this moment.
