“Just with you.” She gasped before being pulled closer.

Archie lifted them with his cock still inside of her and flipped them over on the bed. With the amount of sex they’d been having, it was like they were trying to make up for lost time. The rest of their lives wouldn’t be enough. She wanted them to find each other in every lifetime.

He slowed down his movements and looked into her eyes. “You’re all I ever need, you know that right?”

She nodded as he pushed in deep and her back arched off the mattress. Her hands slammed down and she fisted the blanket beneath her.

It wasn’t lost on her what he said. It was a conversation they’d already had. He wanted to get her pregnant, but if it didn’t happen, he said they would be okay. They didn’t have to have kids or they could choose to adopt. He was down for whatever she wanted to do.

He lifted her leg to thrust in deeper. She came and screamed out his name, but he didn’t stop. He groaned as he pounded into her. Determined to bring her to the edge again before he found his own release.

It wasn’t until his breathing slowed that he pulled out of her and rolled onto his back. He pulled her in close and her arm wrapped around him. Her fingers moved across his chest, up the side of his neck, before settling at the back of his head as he looked down on her with a smile.

“You really want to be stuck with me forever, Arch?” She teased.

“No chance of letting you go ever again.” He pressed a kiss to her forehead.

She swallowed. “It feels like a dream, marrying my best friend.” She smiled as she snuggled into his side.

“No.” He ran down her face and lifted her chin. “It’s the best love story.”

She smiled as his lips pressed against hers then pulled back. “Our love story is definitely my favorite.”

It hadn’t been the easiest journey to get here. There were times she still couldn’t believe it. If her teenage self could see her now, living their dream.

“I love you, Archie Stryker.”

He smiled down at her. “I love you, Tabitha Stryker.” His smile turned to more of a smirk as his eyes closed.

Tabitha didn’t doubt they would have disagreements. There were no guarantees in the future, but she knew they would be able to work through anything. As long as they had each other, that was all that mattered. It wouldn’t always be easy, but she had faith.

She’d never had more faith in a person than she did in her best friend turned husband. For as long as she could remember, he had been the one she could count on. He’d always been there and knew they were in it together until the end. No matter what life threw their way.

EPILOGUE II

ARCHIE

Ten Years Later

It’samazing what can change in ten years. So much so that the last ten years practically erased the previous ten from his memories. Sure, he still had the occasional nightmare or flashback from his time in the military. Then he’d have a bigger memory from a time with Tabitha. They’d both been through more than most people before they got to this point.

He wasn’t doing any more assignments with the security company. It had grown and he’d taken on more of a manager type role. It was perfect because it allowed him to work remotely and spend more time with his family.

They had two daughters and a son that took most of their energy. Thankfully, both sets of grandparents were a short drive away and were always down for a weekend of fun with their grandkids when they needed a break.

Archie watched as Tabitha blew more bubbles in the backyard and the youngest chased them. Their son jumped and giggled at the bubbles. Across the yard, their daughters were swinging on the swing set both his father and father-in-law helped him build last summer.

Tabitha looked back at him from where he stood behind the grill, flipping burgers. Both of their parents would be arriving any minute for dinner and the new tradition of family game night. Tabitha promised him it would be fun, and he’d do anything to make her smile.

When she told him she only wanted to be a work from home mom, he supported her. She was only working part-time right now while their youngest was still too young for school. Once he started, he knew she wanted to do something more full time.

He honestly didn’t care, as long as she was happy. He still couldn’t believe this was his life. He didn’t think he could make her happy. He didn’t think he could give her everything she’d wanted in this life.

Turned out all she wanted was him.

The rest fell into place.

Archie knew there were times she thought she wasn’t enough. She complained about something she called a ‘mom pooch’ but it was where she brought three beautiful babies into this world. She didn’t think she could make him happy.

It was probably why they fought it for so long. It started as not wanting to ruin the friendship, but the chemistry became too undeniable. Then they both tried to push each other away, him more than her. Fate had other plans.

Sometimes, when your oldest best friend becomes the one that got away, all that’s left are memories. Then life pushes you back in orbit together. We push back and fight destiny. It doesn’t mean it won’t happen. It just means the timing was off.

Have a little faith in fate.

The End
