“I can get used to this,” Jessa moans as I spread kisses all over her beautiful tits.

I enter her slowly, knowing Bentley can wake up at any time since it’s morning. We fell asleep only a few hours ago because of my greed to have her in every possible way.

We move together, out of breath, until she warns me she can’t hold off any longer, and I feel her contract all over me. I’m fast behind the moment she comes, blowing inside her and expelling a grunt.

The morning is upon us, but it didn’t stop me from waking her up so selfishly. I kiss the top of her shoulder as she pushes back into my embrace.

“Bentley will wake up soon, and our blissful silence will be over until naptime.”

“How many hours do I have to wait until naptime?”

“A lot.” She laughs, digging her elbow into me. “You’re greedy.”

“I haven’t touched you in two months. I have a lot to catch up on.”

“But this is nice, too,” Jessa murmurs, inside my embrace.

I let out a sigh, staring at the window, trying to piece together the dream I had last night of my father. This time, there was no screaming or body bag. My father appeared almost angelic with his bright blond hair and deep blue eyes. His skin wasn’t pale or sickly, and Uncle Lex was dressed in some jersey as the two of them laughed. My mom joined them as the three of them just sat on the beach staring into the horizon.

It was peaceful and content, then my father waves with a smile on his face before walking away.

Unlike all my other dreams, I woke up without the usual heaviness inside my chest, feeling rested and rejuvenated. I’ll never truly understand the reason behind them but won’t dismiss the connection to my waking life.

I’m finally able to spend the rest of my life with the woman I’ve always loved, and with this comes contentment.

So, perhaps, my father only wanted me to find my own destiny even though people would think it’s crazy. Luckily, I don’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks besides the woman inside my arms.

And his lesson in all of this is life is too short. At any moment, it can all be taken away. So, while we have the gift of life, we must live it with the ones we love and make memories to last a lifetime.

“Are you okay?” Jessa asks with a relaxed voice.

My lips fall upon her shoulder to place a soft kiss. “Perfect.”

She turns around only for Bentley to call out ‘Mama.’

We both put our clothes on, then Jessa brings Bentley into the room. The kid is excited to see me, calling out my name and demanding I hold him. We sit in bed as Bentley sits between us until he gets restless and needs breakfast.

“So, I was thinking,” Jessa begins while slicing up some toast for Bentley. “I know I showed you my journal, but there’s something else I need to do.”

“Like what?”

“We’ll need to get dressed in very warm clothes.”

“I’m not liking this already,” I warn her.

“Just get dressed. We’re heading out.”

We take turns showering while taking care of Bentley, then leave the apartment dressed in our winter gear as Jessa leads us to the park across the street. There are only a few people around, mainly joggers on their morning run.

I see her take a deep breath. Then she suggests we walk to the lake. The suggestion is out of character, given her fear of lake animals, and there’s one black swan lurking in the water already.

“I need to conquer my fears,” she states.

“Oh, c’mon, Jessa. We all have fears, don’t do it.”

“Why?”
