My first reaction is to laugh, relieved this is all over. But not wanting to hurt Benedict’s feelings, I try my best to hide my smile.

“It’s okay.” Benedict grins. “You can be happy.”

I turn to look at Andy standing behind me with a smirk on his lips.

“I, uh, I’m not sure how you’re supposed to react appropriately in these situations.”

Benedict chuckles softly. “Have a drink tonight to celebrate.”

I smile back at him and Eliza. “You too.”

After leaving Benedict’s, we sit in the cab as I reflect quietly.

“Are you okay?” Andy asks, placing his hand on mine.

“I’m relieved, but I guess I haven’t thought about it. We’ve just been so busy, and it feels like a lifetime ago I was married to Benedict.”

“Time is moving fast,” Andy concurs. “But hopefully, you can relax and enjoy dinner tonight.”

The surprise comes at the restaurant, with all my cousins and their husbands in attendance. Apparently, the kids are being babysat by their parents here in Manhattan tonight.

My brother, Nash, and sister, Sienna, and Andy’s sisters are also here .

While things were tense between Luna and us, we managed to reconcile once Andy and I made our relationship official. As much as her actions did hurt Andy, she apologized profusely, and we forgave her in a heartbeat. No matter what troubles we may encounter at times, family is still family.

“Bitches, I’m back!”

Eric enters wearing an extravagant green suit. Far from me to say he looks like a Christmas tree, a very expensive one at that since he just mouthed the brandVersaceat Ava.

“Eric.” Millie scowls. “You look like a Christmas tree.”

“Thank you,” I agree. “But a pretty tree like the one at Rockefeller Center.”

Eric kisses both my cheeks. “Thank you, darling. Now, enough about how beautiful I look, and let’s celebrate you!”

It’s been one week since my book was officially published and hit the top ten in the charts as a debut author—a book that my journal inspired.

I’ve been blown away by the response, especially since the sequel is up for pre-order and set to exceed the results of book one.

“I can’t believe my darling, Jessa, the innocent one, is now a full-time romance author.”

“The innocent one.” Andy snorts as I dig my elbow into him with a grin. “Sure.”

Eric purses his lips. “Would you like to elaborate, Mr. Evans-Baker? Are we talking browning the sausage?”

I shake my head with disgust, suddenly losing my appetite.

“That’s just… too far, Eric,” Will complains.

Eric winces. “Swedish bike ride?”

Austin bites down, trying not to laugh. “That’s a new way to describe it.”

“How about up the chocolate highway?”

Ava places her spoon down. “And we’re done with chocolate mousse.”

Letting out a huff, Austin rubs her back with a chuckle. It was only a few months ago we saw them when we flew to LA after the birth of their second daughter, River.
