“Andy,” I croak as my chest rises and falls at the sight of him gazing at me lovingly. “What are you doing?”
“I’m asking my best friend to marry me.”
I move toward him and fall to my knees with tears streaming down my cheeks. My hands move to his face, bringing his lips closer so I can kiss them.
Slowly, I pull away as he grins. “I have a whole speech ready.”
My hands wrap around his neck. “Yes! A thousand times over, yes!”
“Are you sure? I’ve got this whole anecdote which I’m certain you’ll enjoy.”
Laughter escapes me, unable to hide just how happy he makes me.
“The trouble with me is that I’m the most impatient woman you’ve ever met.”
Andy brushes his lips against mine. “I better get this ring on your finger then, huh?”
I stick out my hand with a squeal. “I’m ready to become Mrs. Evans-Baker.”
Carefully, Andy removes the beautiful canary diamond ring and slides it on my finger. He presses his lips against the ring, kissing my finger as I stare in awe at the most exquisite piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen.
I throw my hands back around Andy’s neck while grinning. “We need to celebrate tonight.”
“Swedish bike ride?” he teases.
My head shakes as laughter escapes me. “Your wish is my command, baby.”
