My head snaps up. Hope begins to move towards the door. I move around the chair.

“My mother couldn’t have told you about that since she doesn’t know anything about it. How do you know about the ring, Hope?”

She opens the door and on the other side of it is Graham. Hope looks from me to Graham then back again. I have to bite my tongue because I know exactly how she knows about the ring. If I know Graham, it didn’t take much for him to tell her.

“I’ll see you later. Good luck,” she tells Graham as she slips by him.

“What was that about?” he asks.

I see he’s out of his business attire and in jeans today. I’d love nothing more than to ream him a new asshole right about now but GiGi’s with him. The beautiful Samoan woman is wearing a red and yellow printed dress with one of those fabric things thrown over her shoulders. Her dark hair is up in one of those buns women master in their youth. She’s rocking heels that match the colors. When she looks at me, her expressive, brown eyes are full of joy. By the look of her, she’s ready to celebrate.

“Nothing. I’ll deal with it later. I take it the meeting went well.”

“Better than we could’ve imagined. We’re going out to dinner to celebrate,” Graham informs me.

“We are?” I ask.

“Yes, Kennedy already made the reservations. We’re heading toThe Olde Pink House. Gemma is really looking forward to it.”

Gemma, GiGi, shoots Graham a death glare.

“Mr. Shaw, may I put in the request now that I never have to travel alone with this man again?”

“That’s not a feasible request to make. Besides, it’s not my fault you walked in on me at that moment.”

“I knocked. I even called out your name. How was I supposed to know you would be changing?”

“Me telling you I’m going to use the room to change clothes wasn’t warning enough?”

I laugh because one thing I learned the hard way about Graham Tucker is he goes commando. Every. Day. Of. His. Life. Since the moment he discovered “free balling”, he took it and ran with it. He told all our friends he saves a fortune not having to buy boxers. GiGi’s glare cuts to me before returning her hateful stare to him.

“Let me hit send on this email and we can head out.”

GiGi mutters something that makes Graham smirk. I lock up my laptop then grab my jacket off the coat rack. The other two follow behind me.

“You could’ve covered yourself when you saw I was in the room,” GiGi mumbles.

“You could’ve turned away instead of fixating those brown eyes on a certain appendage.”

I snort as we make our way to Graham’s car. It doesn’t take us long to get to the restaurant. As soon as we arrive, I feel a familiar tingle as the hairs on my arm stand up.

“Fuck me,” I mumble.

Graham turns to look at me. Confusion is written all over his face.

“What?”

I turn and lock gazes with stormy, gray eyes. Reading her lips, I see she has the same reaction to me as I do to knowing she’s here.

This evening just took a definite turn. Unexpected is not enough of a word to describe it.
