I try to ignore the pang of hurt hearing that causes me. I’m not fast enough. Turning, I pretend to look for something to mask the burn I feel as my eyes water.

Graham, good friend that he is, claps his hands, drawing attention to him.

“Let’s get out of here and start doing a ‘hard sale’ of the greatness of Savannah.”

By the end of his spiel, I’ve regained control of myself. I’m able to follow them out without incident.

“Thanks, Man.”

“Anytime, Bro. I’ve got your back.”

We exit Hope House. Me in hopes of getting my mind off the past. My friends, in hopes of convincing another to join us in Savannah.

Savannah, GA May 5- Friday evening

The Anniversary Event

The guys and I have spent the day... afternoon visiting old haunts. We've gone to some of the touristy places as well as visited a couple shops Trent took interest in. I discovered Trent next things with bugs on them as well as items that have mythical creatures designed into them. The biggest 1 has to do with Dragons.

I'm left to my own thoughts and devices for a little too long. they went to go raid the bar and I've been left alone. My thoughts immediately go turn Brooklynn. Not today get to venture too far away from her. Lately she's been at the forefront, especially after yesterday's conversation. I speak to a couple people including Brooklynn’s friend.

“Good evening, Mr. Shaw.”

“Good evening, Nurse Forrester.” Graham is suddenly back at my side. he hands me one of the glasses in his hand. “Enjoy the party.”

The two acknowledge each other before he speaks to me. I notice that she’s alone. I don’t see Brooklynn with her.

“Don't worry, it's non-alcoholic.” He takes a good look at me then groans. “Alright man, you said what you said now get out of your head.”

“It's rhyme time now?”

“No, it's time to have a good time.”

“What are we talking about? Why does it look like you're brooding over here in the corner?”

“If you two brilliant men notice, we're not in ‘the corner’. We're standing at a table, on a rooftop, at a party.”

The two of them chuckle as Trent rejoins our group.

“Is he still pouting?” Trent asks as soon as he takes a seat

“What the hell is going on? Is that what you guys think I'm doing?”

“That's what we know you're doing,” Ryder tells me. “Who is this about anyway?”

I look at Graham and silently threaten him to keep quiet. He raises an eyebrow, gives me a questioning look, smirks, then turns to face the other guys.

“Get this. It's the same one man from high school.”

The guys start snickering and all I can do is shake my damn head.

“Blaze? After all this time, it's still blaze?” Ryder questions.

He looks different without his cut on. if I didn't know any better, I swear he was wanted a businessman who came to make a donation via the auction. He smiles then pats my shoulder. The guy is still happy handed. Always has been probably always will.

“Can we talk about something else?”

“Nope. you open the floor to this so let's get into it,” Graham announces. “Have you seen her?”
