What kind of woman was my match? Fated mates were meant to be perfect for each other, their biology and minds worked like magnets attracting. Who would attract my mind? Was she also royalty? Or was she some lower down woman in the courts of my kingdom? I didn’t care as long as she was fertile and mine.

“There’s a city down below, past the purple ridge and near the river,” she explained slowly.

“Ember Abyss,” I nodded. We had worked to keep our secrets from them since they first sprung up.

“A young woman named Isabella works in a flower shop. She’s shorter with hair colored like balsam and peachy skin. She’s sweet, calm, content, and irrevocably bored,” the seer said.

“Can you see her shop name?”

“It’s not her shop,” she said simply.

“She doesn’t own it, or?”

“She just works there, a cashier or maybe a nursery worker in the back. She has a thumb greener than emeralds.” She smiled as she spoke. I nodded and tried to picture this woman. She sounded plain. She didn’t even own her own business and wasn’t in my kingdom. I wasn’t sure if this was a good-- “I’m seeing something else,” she murmured.

“Yes?” I shot back with slight impatience.

“She’s human.”
