Sebastian: You girls gonna gossip about me? Is that how girl talk works?

Me: Maybe ;)

My phone was put back into the purse as I unlocked the door and slipped inside. First thing to come off were my heels. Man, that felt good. Next stop, to start my bath. Something about hot baths was soothing especially when you have sore or aching muscles. I try to take a bath at least once a week, basically taking the edge off.

My phone beeped again. He must not be too busy if he’s texting me back that fast. I walked to the living room and got the phone.

Sebastian: Well as long as it’s good things. Or wait, do you have anything bad to say about me? Enjoy your girl time.

The bath was nice and warm as I submerged in the water. It was like instant gratification as my muscles began to unknot. After washing myself, the next thirty minutes were spent with eyes closed, just enjoying the quiet.

A knock at the door brought me back. Was it already 5:30? I pulled the plug, wrapped a towel around myself and looked through the hole. She was early.

“Hey girl. Brought the wine as requested. Didn’t know whether you wanted red or white. So naturally, I got both.” She looked at me. “Why are you answering your door in a towel? I could have been a creep.”

I chuckled and pointed to the peephole, “I knew it was you. I don’t make it a habit of answering my door in only a towel. Promise.”

She made her way past me and into the kitchen while I went and put on some clothes. I couldn’t wait to get into something soft and comfortable.

“So, I’m guessing you got some things to dish about? My ears are open.” She yelled from the kitchen.

Abigail’s been an amazing friend to me, and always had my back. “Lots to talk about, girl.” I said, making my way into the living room to sit next to her on the couch. Our wine glasses clinked as we said cheers, taking that first sip of wine.

“So enough, what’s going on? Dish, girl, dish.” Abigail said, sitting straight up and eyes fixed on me.

“Well, things have been going good with Sebstian.” I said, leading up to the real reason I wanted to talk to her. “But, the other day we almost had sex.”

“Almost? Why almost? Don’t tell me you freaked out? Girl, you need to get laid or you’re going to dry up like a prune. How long has it been?”

“First of all, I didn’t freak out and it’s been over a year.”

“See. Nope. Couldn’t go that long. Haven’t you had any one night stands?”

“What time do I have to pursue one night stands? I don’t go anywhere but work and here.”

She looked up and nodded her head, “That’s true. So why almost had sex?”

I sat the wine glass on the table, “things were getting intense... I thought we were going to.. But then he told me no. Like I’ve never had a man tell me no before. It was shocking.”

“You’re kidding me right? Did he give you a reason?”

The fact that she was shocked made me feel less like an idiot. “Don't want to rush things?”

“Fuck. You both need to get out of your hands and just do it already. You’ve known each other for decades, and your chemistry is off the charts.”

She’s not telling me anything I don’t already know. “Oh believe me, I’m not opposed to it at all. I’ve been trying to get him amped up for it. I sent him a picture today while he was at work of me posed on my desk.

“Girl. No you didn’t.”

“Sure did. It made his day.” A smile erupted.

“Duh. When are you guys hanging out again?”

“No idea.”

WHEN I GOT TO THE OFFICE, there was a voicemail from the private investigator I hired with some fascinating information on the ex-husband of hers.
