I look him dead in his eyes. “I do not love you, Lee. You just don’t know what to do without us. In due time, you will find someone who will make you happy, and then you won’t think about me at all.”
He tries to pull me close, and I fight him off. “Don’t make me cause a scene. Sherrie will be out of the shower any minute, and she doesn’t need to witness this. Go home.”
His eyes are wet, and his hands are on my stomach. “Are you really just going to throw away ten years?”
I stand my ground, with my arms crossed, and nod. “Go home!”
Lee stares at me for a second, and then gets in his car and drives off.
Tina comes out, and hugs me. “Are you okay?”
For the first time in a long while, I stood up for myself. This marks the time in my life where I fight for what I want, no matter what others think.
“Can you watch her for a bit?”
She smiles, and hugs me again. “Go get your man.”

BRODIE
I stop by Tristan’s on the way home from practice. He is the only one to talk to about this. He will probably laugh at me for falling for her so quickly.
“So, what brings you by?” he asks. “You look like hell.”
I go to his fridge and pull out a beer before joining him on the couch. “Vanessa pushed me away, man. I really thought she was going to be the one.”
His head cocks back. “The one? You knew her for what a little over a week? Don’t fool yourself, bro. She’s hot, but bad news.”
Even after everything, I want to punch him in his mouth for talking about her like that, but he’s already hurt so I refrain. Some of it has to do with me going out with her and not him. I must remember that.
“You don’t get it. I literally think about her constantly. I’ve dreamed about our future, and I’ve never done that with anyone. Ever. I want to fight for her, but it’s hard to do if she doesn’t want anyone to know we were ever together. I’m backed into a fucking corner that I can’t get out of.”
Instead of responding, he just listens to me ramble, and honestly, that’s all I need right now, someone to let me vent, and get it out of my system.
“You know what, you aren’t going to understand. Thanks for listening, but you can’t give me the advice I need,” I say, walking out of his house.
Tristan has been in maybe one serious relationship, and he isn’t the person I need to be talking to about this. If anyone should hear my pleas, it’s Vanessa. Maybe she wants me to fight for her, show her that I’m in this for the long haul.
I race my truck to my house, and rush inside to take a shower before reaching out to her. It doesn’t have to be tonight, but she needs to hear me out. I have to tell her everything and get it off my chest before she walks away from me for good.
The hot water beats down on my skin as my hands are against the wall, letting it flow down my body. Tonight has been a shit show and something has to give. Vanessa is stuck in my mind, even after her pushing me away, and it’s killing me. I refuse to let her walk away from me without a fight. What kind of man would I be if I just let the woman of my dreams walk away?
I wash the sweat of my body with my blue loofah and body wash before turning the nozzle off and grabbing my towel. There is no way I was going over there smelling like death. The towels tightens around my waist, and I walk to my closet to find some clothes, but then my doorbell goes off.
Who the hell is that?
After crossing the living room to the door, I look through the peephole.
“What are you doing here?”
Her eyes avert to my chest, and she pushes me inside and shuts the door with her foot. Her lips are on my chest, and I’m caught off guard.
“Wait, what the hell is going on? You said you didn’t want to see me anymore. Why are you being so hot and cold?”
She doesn’t even listen to me, just continues down until she’s on her knees, with me in her mouth. My hand cups the back of her head, and as confused as I am right now, the way my cock is hitting her throat is shifting my focus for a second.
“Okay, as much as I love this, we need to talk before this goes any further. You know my rules, I don’t just sleep around. Okay?”
